How awful is PX 90?

Well, I have about 25 lbs to lose before my wedding and I'm thinking that I'll give it a try.  I've heard its a killer, though.  Anybody had good luck with it?  Is it as effective, but as hard as they say?  I HATE TO WORK OUT!!

  • I unfortunately had to quite halfway through my first time doing it due to moving. However, I am going at it again in the beginning of March. I absolutely loved the results I had. I think the hardest part is actually keeping to the diet plan they have. It is a lot of food surprisingly. A friend of mine just finished and she has amazing results. Size 16 to size 6. Yes the workouts will kill you in the beginning, but DON'T stop. It will get easier! Tony is a great instructor and a bit crazy. You will want to scream at the tv saying "There is no way I can do this!" Try to get out of that mind set and it will be more manageable. Also, try to do it with a friend. It helps so much having someone to compete with. 
  • Also! Don't get it from the beachbody website. Just get it from Amazon. Save yourself several hundred bucks.
  • It's awesome and kind of takes you back to playing sports in school with high energy and challenging workouts.  I reccomend trying it with a friend too but definitely try it, it's really fun and the results are fantastic!  You can do it!!!
    Some of my ohter friends are really into Cross Fit if there is a studio close to you...good luck!!

  • My boss, who works out hard and is extremely fit quit doing it because of it being too hard! If that tells you anything. She told me never to try it! lol But she said the Power 90 would be a good one for myself to do. (I have the videos and she used them at one time too)
  • You hate to workout because you dont do it on a regular basis.  Once you get a routine down you will become so into it that eventually you will need to workout everyday.  In the beginning you will have to force yourself to do it everyday, but you have to get up and actually do it.  You will feel so great and like you accomplished something.  Good Luck!
  • Not awful at all!  I started it several months ago and had great results... until I had to be hospitalized...  It derailed my success.  Long story short, my lungs don't function normally, so exercise (while I used to run and play sports, and enjoy working out) is not easy anymore.  But I'm trying to build back up.  I know if I try and start P90X again, I won't be able to keep up... and they say its ok to just do what you can... but I'm working on the basics here... I'm getting my fiance to do some basic workouts with me... pushups, planks, crunches, stationary bike... it's great for us as a couple and it will help me build back up so I can yell at Tony Horton again! 

    I'd say set small goals for yourself... try to stay positive.  :-)
  • P90X isn't extremely terrible.  I did it for awhile and my biggest problem was actually finding the 90 mins every single day to devote to doing the DVDs.  I hope to start back up again asap.  Its manageable if you have the right mind set! Just think positive!

  • p90x isnt so bad - there are a couple of sessions I came to dislike though - Chest and Back was always a killer for me - girls arent meant for pushups! After the whole program i could still never do the pushups with your legs on the chair and get all the way to the floor! :) It also is pretty repetitious and I think I still prefer group classes with other people around mixing it up more.

    I didnt really have any huge weight loss difference - I defintately became stronger and it improved my core strenth for swimming and cycling. I also didnt follow the diet plan, so that is probably the reason.

  • It really does work! Tony is crazy and after a few months of hearing him I tuned him out with workout music. It got much better after that. Ab ribber x is my favorite, it's tough at first but after a month you love it because you start looking SEXY! lol have fun with it!
