Everyday Dishes HELP PLEASE!

While I was working on my registry, I noticed that there were some negative reviews on my everyday set of dishes ( see pickture below)

I even checked on Macys.com and there were negative reviews there as well. I was super bummed because I love this set and the seperates that go along with this.

I am having a super hard time finding something else that I love equally as much and that goes alone with the other things I put on my registry. I.E. Wilton Armetale stuff

Here is the Wilton Armetale style that I have already picked out that I will use with my everyday (occasionally) and for holday dinners as well along with my china.

Now my pickle, is I think they match okay, but also I wanted something modern. I don't know what to pick! This shouldn't be so difficult, but I'm so indecisive and want to make a good decision! What would you do? I wanted something that was timeless and classic. What did you all choose and why? What do you think I should do?

The second set also doesn't really match our decor in our condo which is a slate Blue and black (we do have white moulding) and chrome/stainless steel in the kitchen. We do plan on getting home and that's when I will be doing a lot more entertaining.

A bought new everyday dishes a few years ago and mind had negative reviews (about chipping) on the Macy's website. I haven't had a single chip.

What are the reviews about?

Unless you anticipate having a pack of wild monkeys over for dinner, I think you can take the reviews with a grain of salt. If you saw the dishes in person and were happy with the size, shape, and weight, get them.

EDIT: I just looked at the site. There's ONE negative review. The same person probably went over to Macy's and posted there, too.

They don't say how the plates cracked, did they?

There were 4 or 5 negative reviews on Macys.com about chipping and scratches and the same thing was said on bedbathandbeyond.com My fiance doesn't care and thinks it's a waste and would like a boxed set instead. Ugh... this shouldn't be so hard!

I actually purchased our everyday dishes on my own. I got them from JC Penney. At the time they were originally $299.99 for a serving of 8, and they were on sale for $80. I couldn't pass it up.

I was looking at those ones too! Those are cute! I think I may run over to BedBathandBeyond before class to take a second look. Jeannine, our condos are the same color blue (I read your blogs LOL), but yours is styled much more nicely. I try and fail!

I personally like the look of the first set better. I think the look of the second one is kind of country kitchen, which isn't bad (my kitchen is that way right now) but it won't match every style. I think the first set is more neutral style wise.
