Decorating a chuppah

Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations for decorating a chuppah on a budget?

I was quoted $100 by a florist to put just greens on the poles.  That just seems a huge amount of money for not even having any flowers.

Did anyone decorate it themselves?  How did you do it?  Was it very time-consuming?

Any ideas are welcome!

    We were going to build and decorate a chuppah ourselves but then decided it was easier and worth it for us to pay a florist.

    We are paying $100 for the chuppah which will be made out of birch poles. The cost also includes additional birch poles and curly willow for a tree effect. We are providing fall leaf garland for a pop of color. (I wanted something super fall).

    You could always drape fabric over the poles instead of using flowers. That's usually a cheaper route.

    Thanks for the info.  Would you mind sharing where you are getting your chuppah?  Are you renting it or buying it?
