Need ideas for an indoor reception with a spring/butterfly theme

Hi

I am getting married in March 2011 and due to constantly being told that March has unpredictable weather, I am having an indoor reception. I woud love to bring the beautiful greenery of the outdoors inside and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to do this. I also want to incorporate butterflies. I have named my theme "Spring Butterfly" and my colors are cornflower blue, soft yellow, and may add light green.
Any ideas? All help will be appreciated

did you happen to watch "My Fair Wedding w/ David Tutera" last night? He prepared an amazingly gorgeous butterfly (rainbow) themed wedding reception for the bride and groom... (it was outside... but can be taken inside as well- besides the umbrellas) Just like PP said... less is more.. be subtle about it..
this bride had rhinestone butterflies clipped to her shoe... and had a couple of buttlerflies in her bouquet...
something similar to that!!

I had a subtle butterfly theme at my wedding in June. As pp's mentioned just don't over do it. I have pictures in my married bio of how it all came together. The overall theme was "He gives me butterflies".

~Our signature drink was called a "Butterfly Kiss" and we had signs at the bar explaining what was in them.
~I had a butterfly jewel in my bridal bouquet
~Our invitations had a very small butterfly on them and on the RSVP card
~Our centerpieces were giant martini glasses with floating candles in them. The candles were butterflies.
~The headband in my hair had small butterflies on it (not noticable unless really upclose)
~My garter had a small butterfly on it (I got it from Etsy seller Makethisdayspecial)
~The stands on each table that held a picture of us in the location the table was named after were little butterflies
~There were some butterfly gummy candies at the candy buffet

I was going to have silk butterflies cascading down the cake, but decided to go with cake jewels on a few of the layers instead.

I've seen trays of grass as placecard holders, and I think it's a fun way to bring some 'outdoors' to an indoor wedding:

There's a indoor butterfly garden near me. It's basically a greenhouse with a gazebo and lots of butterflies. Is there a place like this near you? You could hold your ceremony there.

You can incoporate butterflies into anything you need to design - cake, cards, centerpieces, etc.

Thank you everyone for your help. I did catch dear David's rainbow butterfly wedding. FI is on board

All he really wants to do is be there. Unfortunatley there is no indoor butterfly gardens anywhere near me so i will make do with what I have. I will defintely keep in mind that less is more when it comes to the butterflies.

I also used a butterfly theme for my wedding... you can read about some of it in my blog (see sig) - I used edible butterflies on the cake, butterflies on the bridal shower invites, and some other scattered butterflies... I was going to use what I call "Flutterbys" - which are cardstock butterflies that I make that sit on drinking glasses - but I forgot them!!! I'm still bummed about that.
