Kona Wedding! Venue/vendors?

Hi everyone! I will be getting married in Kona next summer and am in the process of researching wedding venues and vendors. I don't want a hotel wedding and want it outside  somewhere private by the ocean or with an oceanview. I've also been trying to find a photographer that is reasonably priced and a wedding cake bakery. I'm from Kona but am currently living in Alaska and am frustrated with getting the ball rolling.
We are thinking about 150, 200 people max. Any venue/vendor ideas?

Unfortunately, there aren't any. I've ran into the same problem and wanted the same setting you're desiring. Unless you do a private residential estate that holds that many people there simply aren't any venues that aren't a hotel on Kona (that adds up quickly with rentals and then you have the problem of finding a great caterer and having to make the trip prior or trust the food is good). Maui has several that I loved, but we had already told our family Kona and many had booked travel arrangements. We have chosen Royal Kona Resort- outdoors, overlooking the ocean. It's actually very pretty! Well, in pictures, anyway. We are pleased with the details and the way things are being handled. The staff is fabulous! Reviews and talking to other brides are pleased, as well. Good luck! Hope this helps.

I'm having a very small wedding and getting married at Kikaua Point in July.  It is free, but you have to make a reservation.

I am using Eye Expressions Photography:  http://eyeexpression.com/blog/  Bob seems really nice and the price is reasonable to me.

I am either going to use Kona Sweets or Sweets Galore for my cake.

If you know of someone who plays guitar and sings, I'm looking for a musician for the ceremony.  THANKS! and good luck!

Can you also hold your reception there at Kikaua Point; seeing as you are reserving the area for a ceremony?  I have a total of 52 people (this includes my fiancé and myself) and we are looking for something simple, yet quaint and next to the ocean.
