I thought might have fun a place for the wedding and reception. I was out voted. Because it was too choppy for a reception you would have to go room to room for everything but I said it would be nice for the ceremony and pictures. The response I got was what are the guest suppose to do between the ceremony and reception and don't you like how at cappelli's we cans have the wedding and reception all in one place. My response I do not care they can go to McDonald's I was being sarcastic and I guess. I really liked the mansion we looked at.

    Don't feel discouraged venue shopping was not easy for me either. I only went with Fi though it was our choice once we found the place than I showed my dad, he thinks I'm nuts beach wedding in May but our place is beautiful and we will work it out.

    Having played at a lot of weddings, I can also attest to it being difficult to have a venue where you can't fit everyone into one room for the entire reception.  It's gets uncomfortable and a "flow" is never established.  That sounds like it is an issue with this place.

    That being said, you can have your wedding at any venue!  If you love the mansion, go for the mansion!  You might want to make sure there isn't a long gap between the ceremony and reception though- particularly if they are all at the same site... I always find that super annoying as a guest.

    Venue shopping definitely isn't easy. As far as pictures go, they could be done before the ceremony so your guests wouldn't have to wonder what to do inbetween.

    My mom an FI. I think I figured out how to have it at the mansion. Now I just have to sell it to them. I also got under budget for what we were thinking for the reception and hall! That's what I said about pictures, but was told no so I have schedule an hour for taking pictures after the ceremony
