    I left this post:

It's not all the mags fault.  The real blame lies with the designers/companies who often dont want women of color to model their dresses.  Designers fear that white women won't envision themselves in the dress if it isn't modeled by a white woman.  The mags are just running the ads that the gown companies give them.  We need to start pressuring these designers and companies to hire women of color to model their dresses.  But I also think that these bridal mags have enough pull that if they really exerted some pressure they could help force some change.

Interesting indeed.  I agree with OFF, I think that it is the designer's fault, but I also agree that the magazines have enough pull to make things happen.

I totally agree with OFF as well.  BTW- I don't like the word "Nappy" in the title of the blog...I also don't use the term "good hair".  I know, different topic, but I just really dislike those terms and the lack of representation for women of color and couples in interracial relationships in the wedding market.

I agree that as far as ads go, the fault goes to the designer. Bridal mags need some pressure too and have women of color be on the cover of their magazines, not just in between the front and back covers sporadically.
