In Suite Reception- Outside Catering...

So I know that most hotels don't *allow* outside catering, but I know a lot of people do it. How does this work? Has anyone had a problem with this? Our reception is in the Terrace Suite at the MGM...

Also, I remember seeing one review for Masterpiece Cuisine that said the food was fantastic and very moderately priced, has anyone else used them or someone else that they thought was excellent? I was originally going to just use the MGM Catering people but it's soo expensive and you don't get a whole lot it seems.

    Yes-- Masterpiece is very popular. I am using them.

    I think MGM is strict with their policy regarding outside catering, that would make me a bit nervous.  You can read back over the past year's postings to see what other knotties are saying about MGM. We have not had very many reviews on a MGM in-suite.

    You may want to check the Knottie list (top of the board - wedding porn thread) to see if anyone's reviewed MGM Grand's in-suites. 

    Masterpiece is by far one of the most popular options here.

    I have checked the Knottie list and only saw 1 review and she did use Masterpiece and had nothing but great things to say. Just wanted to see if anyone else had heard or experienced differently, thanks ladies :)

    Oh, that's good!

    I'm actually surprised the Terrace Suite isn't used more.  It's SO awesome.  I went to a party there a few years ago and it was an absolute blast sitting on the terrace!

    I wanted to use the Terrace Suite, but it was too small for my guest count..

    Jellbell-- if you search some of the older posts, you can see what others have said. Also, if you call Masterpiece, Scott will be honest with you and let you know his thoughts about having food there.

    Do this. Scott was great to talk to. He'll let you know if they've done other catering jobs there and if they've ever had any problems.

    This is the last big thing I have to book for my wedding, I am so excited but I've also been putting it off because it's what I've had the most trouble making a decision on!
