  Becki, I am also out of town so don't have a lot of recs to offer but this: do you use Yelp (yelp.com)? It can be really helpful about narrowing down neighborhoods, good for groups, vegetarian-friendly, etc. and users rate their experience from one to five stars.
  
  You might try it to get a few ideas.

  I'm vegan and had a heck of a time finding a place. We are deciding between Spaghetti Warehouse or Claddaugh downtown. We are having pasta at our wedding as well and I totally understand what you mean about not wanting to serve pasta at both. But, the pricing at SW is really hard to beat, it's a LOT cheaper than anywhere else.

  
  

  Another option you might want to consider is Winking Lizard. They have a private room and their pricing/menu options are reasonable. We wanted to have it there but a downtown location near the hotel made more sense.

  We had our RD at DeepWood downtown and I was really impressed with how much they worked with me on price and offering options not on their regular menu. Catherine worked within our budget, and her chef created another dish that was the same price as the option we picked from the menu so we knew exactly how much we were paying with food. They let our guests choose soup or salad, served 3 types of homemade bread, choice of two entrees with 2 sides or vegetarian option (entrees were reasonable- $15 each), I surprised my husband with a groom's cake for dessert, and selected reasonably priced wine for our guests to choose from, and the best thing is that our guests ordered at the table like they would for a restaurant and the food came out quick and delicious! Seriously, they make some of the best food I've ever eaten, and we love to go there for special occasions.

  
  

  I know they have an extensive vegetarian menu separate from their seasonal menus. They also have a private room for up to about 45 (we ended up exceeding that limit and ended up in the main restaurant space) and they printed menus and provided centerpieces for free. I was so impressed by them at our RD and at our anniversary dinner, and I can't wait to go back!

  Thanks a lot girls for all your suggestions. Deep Wood looks awesome! It just looks a little fancy for us. Fi really wants a more casual atmosphere where ppl can get up and mingle. I like the idea of Winking Lizard. I will have to look into that. I've never heard of it before and am not sure where its located. I did some research on yelp and found the Columbus Brewing Company. Has anyone ever eaten here? It looks like they used to be owned by Cameron Mitchell so I'm assuming they're good.

  There are 2 Winking Lizards in Columbus. It's a sports bar, but a nicer one. And they do have a separate room that can accommodate large parties. FI and I always go to the one on Bethel Road. They do have an excellent black bean burger and they have a few other veggie options as well.

  
  

  If you want to do something more relaxed and interactive you could always do Mongolian Barbecue.
