Would you pick the date or continue to wait?

We'll have been engaged 3years in Feb. We had a date set for this year but postponed because an opprotunity arose that I couldn't have taken if I were a married woman. After much prayer and discussion we postponed. I'm ready... really ready to pick a new date (so is he), but we're waiting on approval for a loan to build our home. If you were us would you wait till your home was built knowing that would take roughly 8mos-a year (we're doing it all by ourselves)? The thing is you would have to live with your in laws until it was done.   Plus I'm in college again (had to take 2yrs off to help care for my ailing grandmother whom has advanced alzheimers).  Thoughts? Opinions?

  • I would set the date for a year from now. That way you can get married and move in shortly after your house is complete.

  • I would do the same. Set the date a year away, it will give you time to plan and time for your house to get finished.

  • Set the date and make it firm. There is no point in waiting any longer. You do not need a huge party to get married just a bride and groom and an officiating person. Do it already.
  • I agree get married before ther is another reason to postpone. A year from now sounds good that way you don't have to live with the in-laws for to long.
  • I would pick a date, have a small wedding, and enjoy married life as soon as possible.
