Honeymoon

Alright ladies I'm curious as to where you went or what your plans are for the honeymoon. FI and I are trying to decide so I figured I would ask ya'll!

Where did you go/are you going?
How many nights?
What was your favorite thing/most excited about?

We're leaning towards somewhere in the mountains or somewhere in Florida. So many choices...

We staying local. We are going to a vacation club restort in St Augustine, FL for 7 nights. I love that the honeymoon is only an hour and half from the reception because we don't have to do anymore traveling. I'm excited to explore St Augistine's historic district, the fort and the light house.

Also, I am live an hour from Orlando, FL so if you have any questions about HM spots in FL, PM me

We're going to Sandals in Jamaica for 4-5 nights.  We don't want to be gone for an entire week because we always want come home after a few days on vacation anyway.  We've decided to save some money and take another trip later in the year.  We'll be in NYC for New Year's so I can cross that off my bucket list. :)

I'm excited about swimming with dolphins... and my husband. :)

Where did you go/are you going? Disney World
    How many nights? One Week
What was your favorite thing/most excited about? Everything!! Disney is our favorite place to vacation to. It's our favorite place to be and we go all the time! We love it all. We plan to stay at the nicer hotels (Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge) which will be a nice change from the cheaper Disney hotels we usually stay at when we go on vacation together.

We wanted to go on a Disney Cruise but since our date is so close to Christmas (3 days before!) cruise prices are outrageous!! SO, we're going to go on one sometime in 2013!

As of now we are going on a 4 day cruise with Norwegian Cruise line. It leaves the Monday after our wedding so we will fly down on Sunday. We will visit Miami, Grand Bahama Island, Great Stirrup Cay  Bahamas and Nassau Bahamas.

We are spending out first night together as man and wife in our new house. FI has been living there since January but we won't be moving in together till after the wedding.

I am most excited about being on an actual vacation with FI. Due to our crazy job schedules and financial restraints, we don't get to take a lot of vacations together.

We got married on Saturday, stayed near our venue the 1st night. We drove to Baltimore on Sunday, dropped off some things at the house and stayed at the airport.  Flew to Miami on Monday and went to see a Jets/Dolphins Monday Night Football game.  Tuesday we flew to Orlando to spend until Monday at Disney World.  We went to all of the parks and did the Dolphin thing at Epcot one day.  We both got sick at Disney so it was not the best honeymoon but it was so great to finally be together.

The football game was awesome!  DH loved the Dolphin thing at Epcot.  We were on the dining plan so we ate so much but the food was really good.

Because we got sick, we still have 2 days left on our cards so we can go back to Disney sometime and hopefully have more fun/not get sick!

We are going to Disney World in Orlando for 6 days 5 nights.  We are leaving a week after the wedding.

I'm most excited for watching the Fireworks over the magic kingdom on a boat.  It'll be kind of like Tangled.

<div>That was the best.  Well, that and getting to sleep in the same bed as him, cuddle him, kiss on him...do other stuff with him :-P  It was all a little surreal.  Of course now I kick him so he doesn't hog the blankets and I plug my ears so I don't have to hear him snore, but 8 years ago being in bed with him made me all warm and fuzzy inside.</div><div>
</div><div>I found the photos from our honeymoon the other day, they crack me up.  We were so young and so obviously glowy from the wedding and it's, um, after effects ;-)</div>

For everyone going to Disney for their HM, make sure you get tickets for La Nouba in Downtown Disney. It's an amazing show and worth the money.

Where did you go/are you going?
We are going to Disney World and Universal Studios!

    How many nights?
7 nights.  We will have a drive down day on Sunday.  Monday is Hollywood Studios.  Tuesday is Animal Kingdom.  Wednesday is mini golf, Downtown Disney, and Cirque du Soleil.  Thursday (THANKSGIVING) is Magic Kingdom.  Friday is EPCOT.  Saturday is Universal Studios (Islands of Adventure).  Sunday is drive back day.

What was your favorite thing/most excited about?
I am excited about Cirque du Soleil, all of the awesome restaurants we plan to eat at, and seeing all of the Christmas lights and shows at Disney World.  I am also excited about staying at Coronado Springs.  Much nicer and quieter (and supposedly less kids) there than other places we've stayed.

ETA:  Faith, you and I are so much alike!  This will be my 10th Disney trip and FI doesn't even know how many times he's been anymore, lol.  We wanted to take a Disney cruise as well, but they were either leaving too early or too late to catch one in the time we're able to take our honeymoon, so we'll probably try to take one some time in 2012 if they aren't all booked already, haha.

Where did you go/are you going? We went to Las Vegas and Fiji

How many nights? We stayed in Vegas for 2 nights then drove to LA to take a flight to Fiji for another week.

What was your favorite thing/most excited about? We had already been to Vegas, but wanted to see more of it so we were excited to see it again, and we were really excited about Fiji. We loved being halfway around the world and so far away from work and every day life stressors after the wedding. We loved having our own bure (villa) and being at a quiet resort with only 36 people. Paradise..

I love the beach (FI likes it...) but since we live in Florida we wanted to do something different. We're going to Seattle and Victoria British Columbia. We'll be staying on the island by our reception the first two nights (hoping we get a free upgrade to an ocean view room otherwise FI says we'll upgrade when we get there) then flying into Seattle, 3 days there, taking the ferry to Victoria and 4 days there. I'm SUPER excited about whale watching! It is salmon spawning season so the orcas are out by the hundreds! We're also going to the original Starbucks (I'm a barista haha)!

...but I have to admit, the thing I'm most excited about is the wedding night...don't lie ladie, you all agree ;) And we got the honeymoon suite, complete with two person tub and two person double headed shower...ahhhhhhhh

Haha, our wedding night is going to take place at our apartment.  No fancy suites for us, lol.

Kate - I'm jealous.  I would have loved to Honeymoon in paradise.  And from the pictures I've seen of Fiji, it IS paradise.

Our first night we had a jacuzzi tub in our hotel room.  I highly recommend this.  It was so nice to strip down with DH and jump into the jacuzzi to relax before we got out to do other things.  (he he)

DH and I were married for six months before we stayed anywhere with a jacuzzi.  Now I'm spoiled and will wish for one each time we travel!
