Sandbar Restaurant

Hello all! I am from Chicago and looking into this area for a wedding. I'm sure people here have had weddings at the Sandbar Restaurant because it is listed on the Knot, anyone have any personal stories about it?

I looks very low key and causual - exactly what I want.

Or maybe other suggestions?

Thank so much!

I've never been there for a wedding but I have been there for dinner while wedding were going on.  It's very low key, but the sunset is beautiful!  If it was closer to my ceremony location I def. would have done the rehearsal dinner there.

I am getting married at the Sandbar, Patti is who I deal with, she is very nice. I love the place, it was the first and only place I looked at. The reception is right on the beach. You should check them out!

My future sister in law just got married there (and my engagement party was there)  It really is a great venue for a low key reception...the service is good, the food is great and you can't beat the sunset.....They can put the clear tent walls down all around the pavilion if it's windy and they have centerpiece choices and decorations that are a good bargain.  The set up for the actual wedding was right on the beach and everything flowed smoothly.  Hope this helps...I would recommend it!

I have been to dinner there sevarl times and loved it!  In fact , it was our first choice for the wedding / reception but it was booked and I mean booked!! So we opted with their sister restaurant on the island The Beach House Restaurant, which had more availabilty becasue they have two pavilions.

I almost booked the Sandbar for my wedding. It is a beautiful setting! I love that they basically include everything for youwhich is great if you are planning a destination wedding.  The only downside to The Sandbar is that there is a 10:00 noise ordinance for the whole island, if you wanted to continue to party after 10pm you would have to leave the island.

I almost went with The Sandbar, but we ended up finding a spot on the beach to get married on Anna Maria and then had the reception at Bayside Banquet Hall in Cortez. We were able to bring in our own caterer, bring your own beer, wine, liquor, etc. and it proved to be more inexpensive, but I will say that Patti at The Sandbar was SO helpful and was willing to answer all my questions and was very sweet. She also let me know of popular vendors for cakes and music. We didn't eat at The Sandbar while we were there, but we ate at The Beach House and the food was SO good, so I imagine The Sandbar is also good.
We went with Bayside Banquet Hall because, like a PP, we wanted air conditioning and our sunset was just as beautiful as those at The Sandbar, even though it's on the bay. They also have the 10 P.M. noise ordinance, but it wasn't a problem for us. HTH. :) Sorry it's so long!

we were married there in November and it was fabulous!  We worked with Patti and Janice and they were lifesavers.  I really didn't have to do ANYTHING, they took care of everything for me.  we're also from the midwest and was very easy to plan.  We wouldn't have choosen anywhere else!  :)

There are many places to have an after party on the island
