Short Bridesmaid Dresses?

We're on a hunt for bridesmaid dresses for my girls. I want the length to be above the knee, however every dress we're finding is to the knee or even lower, and looks kind of frumpy! Fabric is an issue too.. the only shorter dresses are made with the thicker fabric, whereas we're looking for something thin such as chiffon. And price point is under $150. I would hate to have to resort to hemming, since I don't want them to have to pay for additional alterations.

Any ladies out there that had/are having the same issue? Can anyone recommend a designer that carries shorter dresses with thinner fabric?

I feel like I've sen a LOT of dresses in department stores. Check Lord and Taylor, Nordstrom, Macys. J crew Sale is in your price range too. You can also look online at charlotte russe and modcloth. I'm sure you've checked David's Bridal, but I was just there and they had a lot of cute things. If you can wait till the end of June, they are releasing the Vera Wang maids line there, which I would think is worth checking out.

I used Belsoie (B2 and Jasmine). I used tea length dresses but they do have above the knee dreses as well (depending on they style you are looking for).

I agree, either go with a department store, or hem it. If you go to a regular (non bridal) seamstress, prices will be reasonable.

Have you tried Mori Lee dresses. The Affairs collection has a lot of short chiffon styles that would fit into the price range you want to stay in.
