AM I ON SCHEDULE?????

I have 10 months to go before my wedding and I'm just wondering where everyone else is or was when they only had 10 months to go.  I've been looking at various checklists and it seems like I'm on track. I have the reception hall and DJ booked and I have some family friends doing the photography and videography.

I'm curious to find out what everyone has done so far, thanks!

  • You might want to try posting this on your month board. Seeing at I'm at just under 2 and half months I'm going to have a lot of things done that you probably haven't even started.

  • At about 8-10 Months, I was hunting and booking vendors. Venue (inc catering) was my first one... the photographer was my greatest challenge because I met with so many, just so many options for about a month I had 2 each weekend. Give yourself plenty of time for this. So just start researching... but do one thing at a time. If you try an do em all at once it'll get overwhelming.
  • At 8-10 months I wasn't engaged yet....
So technically you are still on schedule.

Yeah, you're month board would be the best bet. I also wasn't engaged at 10 months. Take what the girls say on the month board with a grain of salt, too. Some people are just eager beavers and get things done way earlier than they need to be. Others procrastinate a lot. So look for the common level & not what the one crazy person has done so far.
  • At 10 months, I ordered my first wedding gown, had most of my venue, starting working on a guest list, and began working on STD's. I was also still clipping out ideas and things for flowers, and other details from magazines. But, I was mostly starting my savings account to pay for the wedding.

  • I also wasn't engaged yet at 10 months out, so you're definitely ahead of where I was when I was 10 months out.

  • I am 12 months out and have my venue, dj, & photographer booked, we have had our engagement pictures taken.

I also have an appointment to go looking for dresses in a couple of weeks.

It really depends on your area as to how fast things book. We booked our venue 2 years before the wedding because most dates were already booking up.

It also depends on your situation and how much time you will have to do wedding stuff in the upcoming 10 months. I am a student so now while I am off for summer I am doing little things like making our photo guest book online & our save the dates. The advantage to doing this is now I have the guest book & save the dates designed and saved & as soon as there is a sale or a groupon I can order them for a fraction of the price.

    Good Luck!

I was thinking the same thing.  I only had a 9 month engagement.  Around 8 months I started looking at venues, and booked one around 7-8 months.  I also booked a caterer soon after.  Otherwise, everything else can wait a bit.
