I totally agree with retreadbride. There are so many things that the wedding industry makes you think you "need", and they really are superfluous. The DIY and budget boards are great resources as well, and look on your local NH board (link on upper left) to find out the best vendors for the price in your area.

Good luck. This  should be a joyful time, not stressful!

Yes,  listen to Retreadbride ... she knows that stuff.  And, I agree, the "one time" things that many brides get hung up on are unnecessary.  Completely.

I admit, I get caught up in that crap, too.  A couple of months ago I was stressing out about table number holders.  Then, I hit myself with the reality stick (ouch!), called the venue to confirm that have some and boom!  Done.

    Good luck.

There's so much we didn't bother with and I don't think anyone side-eyed it.  And my Matron of Honor is very much a DIY'er and extremely creative so I was lucky in that respect.

I eliminated the "one use stuff" ... and tried to concentrate on spending on the items and things more important to me.

Don't forget to check Goodwill too! I got my toasting flutes there for pennies We didn't even tie a ribbon on them or anything and they worked great, delivering champaigne to this bride all evening:) AND I bought 100 escort card holders that matched my decor perfectly for 5 bucks.

I eliminated the pricey guest book, used Michaels coupons to get one for 15 bucks and I thought that was high. I used the caterers cake cutting supplies. I bought table numbers in frames from another knottie for 20 bucks.

I challenged some of my Girlfriends to guess what stuff from our wedding was Goodwill, it was fun~

We ALL get stressed over money. The bride above really proves it only takes a little money to have everything beautifuly done on a tight budget.

We just used the toasting flutes for New Years Eve, my husband brought them out and poured and I was shocked, "Oh my goodness our toasting flutes, you still had those?"  Also brought them on our honeymoon with a bottle of champaigne at the beach......

Some really good ideas here.  I will be seeing our venue manager next week, I'm going to have to ask about the holders for table numbers.  I'd never thought to ask them.
