Marriage Certificate

Did anyone order certified marriage certificates online?  How long did it take to get them?  Did you have to use your maiden name while you waited?  I can't get a new drivers license without it.

    We haven't received our yet (3+ months), but another bride got her's in a couple of weeks I think with expaditing it.  If you registered online (filled out the form, etc.) you can pull up a digital copy that you may be able to use.  That might work, but the DMV might want a real copy.  Not sure

    We got a temporary one online, but it took almost 2 and a half months for us to get the certified one in the mail and I believe our officiant filed it the day after the wedding. We were married 4/11 and got it the mail in AZ the last week of June. I had to have a certified copy to take to the Social Security office and then I went to the DMV a couple of days after the SS office.

    I filled out the green form that was given to me at the Healt Dept when we got our license. I sent it out about a week and a half after we got back and I got it in 2 weeks, exactly on our one month anniversary! In PA the DMV didn't require it to change my name but I don't know how other states are. I couldn't change my bank account, credit cards, or passport without my Origional license.

    How did you do it online? I'm having trouble making an appt to get the marriage certificate (people in Hawaii are so laid back they take weeks to answer email!)

    Apparently the current processing time for a certified copy is 21 days.  Which is definitely better than the 4 months the marriage licensing agent told us it would take to get the offical copy.

    My officiant submitted the paperwork the day after my wedding. My official marriage certificate arrived 10 weeks later.

    Don't try and use the temporary copy you can print online, I just did that and waited an hour and a half at the Social Security office to be told it isn't valid.

    Thanks, janeash, I just ordered it online. That seems to be quicker than sending in the green form they gave me and waiting 4 months to get it in the mail.

    I ordered a certified copy online and it was delivered exactly 3 weeks after. My wedding was June 20 and I didn't order it until 5 days after. Hope that helps!
