I hate RSVPs!

So our RSVP deadline was today. I just rushed out in the pouring rain to check the mail the second it got here to find only one RSVP. It was from smoeone who verbally RSVPed the week they got the invite. While I appreciate them sending it back I'm so peeeved that we're missing 15 still and now have to track all of these people down. To make it worse, I know atleast 8 of the people were (as of Saturday) "still trying to figure things out."

    Super annoying. Our deadline is this Saturday and we've only received 132 of 311! I'm hoping everyone is just pushing until the last minute and I don't have to make 100 phone calls.

    Yeah, my rsvp date was last Monday.  FMIL called people today and one person said they dropped it in the mail this past Saturday. WTF, that's a week late!

    I meant to add, for those still "figuring it out", tell them they have until X date (2 days before your #s are due) to figure it out or else you're marking them as a no.

    Yikes!! That is really annoying. I wish I had words of encouragement for you, but unfortunately all but like 5 of the people who actually sent back RSVPs happened the first week or two. We only got one or two a week (if that) over the past month...no last minute push like I expected. :/

    I have been. I've started calling people today and have been telling them if I don't hear from them by Wed. then they're going down as a no. I have a feelings even with the ultimatum, I <em>still</em> won't hear back from them.  ugh. I guess that's their problem though if they wanted to come but didn't get back to me in the two months that they've had the invitiation!

    My RSVP date was the 20th, I get to call 50 people this week to find out if they're coming and if so what they want to eat, most of them are people I know are coming like our grandparents or good friends.  "I just want to buy you dinner and drinks and dance with you, can you please send the stamped self addressed card back to tell me what you want to eat by the specified date?  Thanks." 
    I've started some of my calls and the responses have been "well of course, you know I'm coming and that I like clams."  or "I think I probably could maybe make it and I might have a date." and my favorite "Did you really want me to send that to you?"  Why would I assume you're able to attend and what meal you'd like when it's $50/plate?  And why would I bother sending you a response card if I didn't want a response back from you.  Saying 6 months ago that you love clams doesn't signify to me that you're able to make the wedding and want to a clambake.

    My deadline was today and I am still waiting on about 20 of them.  Of course, hardly a single one is from my side.   A few of them are my dad's friends/uncles.  Most of them are FI side.  So, he will have some work to do this week tracking down responses.

    seriously the worst is "oh, did you need me to send that back?" and i've been calling people today and atleast 3, possibly 5 of them are inviting guests, when the invite was not addressed to any guests...luckily we have a little flex room.

    I'm not having a per-person cost dinner, so it's not a huge deal, but my RSVP date came and went and I was missing over 100 responses. We've tracked down all but 23 of them now. But seriously, 6 days before, why are we still missing 23?!!

    We have about 20 people that never RSVP'd and we can't get ahold of them. So irritating. So trying to make an educated guess.
