I had an amazing experience with Darby House every step of the way. It ended up raining on the day of our wedding (boo!) so we ended up moving everything inside last minute. It was still beautiful and Kate handled everything very smoothly. She was always accessible and helpful. We wanted to do long tables (which they don't typically do), and she was willing to work with us to make it happen. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!
Cameron Mitchell Catering: A
We went with beef short ribs and glazed chicken for our meals. They were able to provide gluten free and vegetarian options for our guests as well. The food was unbelievable and our guests really liked it. They also packed cold meals for us to take to our hotel in case we were hungry after the reception, which was a really nice touch.
Emilie Duncan Event Planning A+++
She was unbelievable! She handled every detail and translated what was only a thought in my uncreative head into a beautiful day. Even with the rain and a last minute rehearsal the morning of the wedding, I never felt stressed. She was definitely worth the money.
Matt Ryan Mobile DJ/Jeff Snow: A
We actually didn't end up using him much. Our wedding was on a Sunday, so most of our guests cleared out after dinner, even though we had booked him until later. He was great at announcing us. He even contacted everyone doing speeches ahead of time to go over timing, mike placement, etc.
Cassidy Dawn Photography: A+
Cassidy did our engagement pictures in addition to our wedding photography. She is out of Chillicothe, so we were hesitant to hire her at first. She shot with her husband which made everything seamless as far as transitioning between her shooting and him shooting. Despite the rain, she was able to get some amazing shots outside. They found ways to make it work without ruining my dress in the rain puddles (big plus!)
D'Attoma Studios/Sarah D'Attoma: A
Sarah is actually our pastor's wife. We hadn't asked her to photograph our wedding because we really wanted them to enjoy it and not be working too hard on the day. In addition, she is based out of Columbia, SC, so we were hesitant to work with someone so far away. She snuck in some pictures and I have to say they were stunning as well. She comes back to Columbus (her hometown) for some weddings, so I would definitely recommend her as well.
Blue Skies HD: A
We haven't seen a final product yet, but they were amazing to work with in the time leading up to the wedding and the day of the ceremony. I was a little shocked when getting out of the car that he was there to interview me. It kinda caught me off guard, but it was a nice touch. They were really great at working with Cassidy (their first time working together ) and I felt things really flowed together well.
Paragon Music and Entertainment: B
I didn't really feel comfortable working with them from the beginning. I listened to some samples of their work (which was amazing), but the vibe I always got was a bit snooty. I received a call from them at one point in time claiming I had never paid them (despite other vendors receiving checks sent the same day). In addition, they had me fax in my music request sheet, which I never received confirmation of them receiving. On the day of the wedding, their music was great. Slight problem though: not the music I had requested and not my favorite song. Not a huge deal, but it was mildly annoying. Good quality, I'd just suggest being firm and possibly only dealing with them in person.
Elegant Touch Events (Floral): A
The flowers were beautiful. It was a bit inconvenient to drop everything off in Plain City at their assembly location, but that was probably poor planning on our parts lol. Everything looked wonderful together, and I truly thought the team did a wonderful job!
Bella Laccio: A-
Jen is really nice and was super helpful in selecting a dress. I had gone to other places where they pulled dresses double my budget and were pushier. She was down to earth and knowledgeable. The only problems I ran into were linked with her being a one-man shop. Sometimes it was hard to work out a time to meet with her based on a more limited schedule. In addition, there was some confusion as to which veil I had ordered (still not positive I got the one I initially ordered, but then again, I couldn't remember 100%). I think these things will be resolved over time and are just fledgling business mistakes. Overall I would recommend her to someone.
