Our lady of the rosary: Poughkeepsie

Does anyone know if you have to be catholic and if you have to have had communion and all the traditional catholic requirements for marriage to get married herein most cases I would assume yes but this is just a chapel so I was wndering if the rules happened to be different.

    It's a Catholic chapel, so one of you need to be baptized Catholic. Generally, priests will like to see the Catholic person receive communion and confirmation before receiving the sacrament of marriage, but it isn't mandatory.

    If one of you is Catholic, definitely contact Father Garisto to discuss what he might require in order to be married at Our Lady of the Rosary. At a minimum, you'll need to do some pre-cana.

    The paperwork says the photographer can not take pictures in the sanctuary what part of the church is this? Honestly I feel like a idiot for asking but I was not brought up catholic even though I was baptised catholic. Thank you for your help!

    The sanctuary is basically the altar. There is an altar rail that separates the sanctuary from the pews (and a bout 3 feet between the altar rail and the first pew). You will likely be in the sanctuary during the entire ceremony. Our photographer had no trouble getting amazing pictures of our ceremony from behind the altar rail.     I go to church at Our Lady of the Rosary and was married there last June.  It's a gorgeous chapel and has lovely grounds for outdoor photos.  We had 2 meetings with Father Garisto and that was it for our requirements.  I think I recall hearing that if you aren't a parishioner you'll need to attend a certain amount of masses.

    The grounds are beautiful! We took many of our wedding party photos right there. I also love that it is "tucked" away and very serene.

    We met with Father Garisto once for paperwork purposes, but met with him a few other times when we were in the area and chatted about non-wedding topics. We were not parishoners, so we paid a higher fee, but we weren't required to attend any masses there (though we did on our own). We also did not use Father Garisto as he wasn't ready to celebrate the mass in Latin, so our experience is a little unique.
