  Thank you very much for the responses. Um Im not sure what Im looking for yet. I have crohns disease so something with a higher waist and the skirt being loose around the stomach area. If it were a regular wedding dress, it would be like an empire look.  Mermaid dresses or anything form fitting is definiately out as well

  Hmm, well if you could go for a slightly more fitted look (you wouldn't have to go tight) but any kind of ball gown (or tea length dress) with a tulle skirt will look vintage, it's a big 40s/50s look. You could just do an empire gown that has vintage detailing. I don't plan on necessarily buying from davids bridal, but their site has been a huge jumping off point for me to find dress styles I like and what I want and what works for me. This may sound super unhelpful, but you don't necessarily have to do a mobster look for you, because there isn't a highly recognizable mob bride look that I can think of. The only really "mob" thing I would see would be if you wore a pinstriped fedora! (Which actually might be cute) So those are my suggestions: either a retro style ballgown/tea length dress or an empire dress with vintage details OR whatever the hell you want.
