Dress Shopping

It's getting real! I am going dress shopping on Sunday. I have no clue what I am looking for in a dress. Although, I do love the full/dramatic skirts.  I am pretty sure I will be having a "SH#* is getting real moment"

Re: Dress Shopping

  • When I went the women told me that 98% of the brides walk out with something entirely different from what they walked in asking for, so don't sweat it, you will know your dress when you see it Laughing

  • Congrats! Also don't rule out any dresses just because you think you won't like it. I tried on dresses I never thought I'd like. Still a lot of fun although I did end up going with a mermaid (I believe it's considered a mermaid gown) like I had originally planned though. Just have fun! :)

Also don't settle. I ended up settling on one dress and wound up back at DB a month later and left with a completely different one.

    I went from this one:

    To this one lol:

I really wanted something over the top and different than most bridal gowns lol. I mean it's Vegas, I wanted to do it big haha!

Oh and whatever you do try and ignore any negative nacy's around you. When I went some random lady kept saying she didn't like things and that certain dresses I tried on were ugly/wrinkled (even with the dress I ended up falling in love with) and it go really annoying but after a while she left after I started ignoring her. And believe me when I say I have NO CLUE who the hell this lady was. I think she was looking at MoB dresses though.

Good luck and have fun! :)

  • I almost bought that dress!  It was between that one and another VW for me.  We ran into one of my mom's friends trying on MOB dresses for her daughter's wedding.  While I was WEARING that one, she walked right by me and asked if I would try on the other one I was considering.  That was a sign that it wasn't the right one for me.  The dress I chose was more 'me.'  However, it is a stunning dress.

I tried on dresses at a few different places, and I have to say that the consultant makes a surprising impact.  One shop I couldn't get out of fast enough because of the consultant's attitude.  Give lots of styles a try because once you buy one, it's best not to continue looking.  And most importantly, have fun!  Dress shopping has been one of my favorite parts so far!

<div>Thank you ladies and I agree once you find your dress, stop looking! The only reason we went back was because my first dress my mom wasn't with me when I got and she wanted her "experience" so we went back lol.</div>
  • Just enjoy every second of it! Good luck finding the dress you want...main thing is don't let anyone talk you out of it IF you really love it and if it makes you feel like you are the most beautiful woman on earth! We all have different opinions and styles!

I just came back from looking at dresses. I knew I wasn't going to buy one today but I wanted to get an idea of if what I liked and had in mind would look good on me...

I will not buy a dress until the end of July or later. I am going home (to Germany) in July and I want to give my mama the opportunity to experience this with me. Also, I want a more non-traditional dress and I figured Germany might have something.

This is the dress I want to try on soon and if I don't find anything in Germany and it looks good - I want this dress!!!!

These are the dresses I tried on today - the first one is too plain - I want more bling but I know that I can get that!

  • That dress with the bling on the back is REALLY pretty!! And I completely agree, don't let anyone talk you out of something that YOU love because remember the day is about YOU and your fiancé and you're the one wearing it!! :)
  •  I picked my dress from the INTERNET.. Crazy .. I know.. but Im so in love with it and its different than anything Ive ever seen.. so had to have it. Im still going to go to an appointment to try some on though just for the short one for going out afterwards..I will try on all kinds though, just for fun. Good Luck! :) I hope its an amazing experience for you!
