Wedding Update Wednesday!

Anything new wedding-wise?
If not, update me on something else, like life, vacation plans, work, etc.

The cake knife I got for $7 or so came in, and I like it, so that's done.  We also booked a limo with A tortorice limo - cheapest I found and had good reviews online.  Mailing STDs tomorrow, and this weekend we'll look at wedding bands.

Oh, and I bought shoes - clicky!  They come tomorrow, hopefully they aren't painful.  I tried on a similar pair at DSW and they were good, so we'll see.

It's weird to actually be planning this wedding after a year of being engaged and not really doing that much.

    Nothing is official yet, but we met with a wedding photographer last weekend and liked them so much that I emailed her last night to book her.  I need to send them the deposit and schedule an e-session, which I'm really excited to do!

    We are booking Limelight Images out of northeast Ohio.  Anyone use them and have reviews?  I've heard so many good things so far.

    Speaking of limos were looking for a stretch yellow hummer..and i cant seem to find one in the area? Is it weird that im looking at all of these things 2 years in advance?

    I've been doing a ton of research for our preferred receptoin sites, and my fiance and I set up a time to meet with the Pittsburgh Zoo, which I think is our top choice for reception venue. I've also made some general inquiries to photographers, but that's about all for now. I think once we nail down the ceremony and reception sites, we'll back off for a few weeks. Then - dress shopping, which I am really looking forward to!

    We're headed off to West Palm Beach in a week or two for a 6-day vacay, which is over our three-year dating anniversary (total coincidence since that didn't even occur to me when we booked it). Can't wait!

    First off, I got offered a new job!  I'll still be working at the same campus, but in a different department doing much more of what I've been wanting to do.. so I'm pretty excited about that.   I'll be starting in 2 weeks or so.

    Wedding-related, we're going to speak with our caterer tomorrow about the items we'd like to have at our taste testing.. which I'm so excited for!  Aug. 20!

    Still looking for a dress.. I made an appointment with the JCrew down here in DC this Sunday; we'll see if anything comes of that.

    I'm trying to get a hold of reception halls. Other than that, not much wedding wise here.

    Tomorrow is my last day of Summer Tutoring, so I'm sad to see the kids go, but glad I'll be able to spend the next few weeks packing.  Saturday is going to be my last day at my rink (unless packing starts driving me CRAZY).

    nmm-I don't think it's weird--I'm a 2013 bride, too.  I already have a dress, DIY invite kits bought, and ceremony location booked.  Planning this far out has allowed me to space out purchases and get things on sale :)

    I feel like I've been somewhat MIA lately, but things around here have been crazy busy!  FI and I were back home in Pgh last weekend and I had my first dress fitting!  I'm in between jobs for the rest of this week (no more driving over an hour each way!!!), so I'm headed back tomorrow until Sat and will try the dress again so we can figure out the bustle.  There were so many layers of fabric so the seamstress needed to deal with the layers first. 

    We also had a couples shower on Sat. FMIL's friend hosted this and it was very lovely.  Then on Sunday, we met with the DJ to discuss details.  I'm getting very excited...things are just coming together left and right!  The remainder of this week will be spent working on details as well while I have the extra time:)
