Budget Bride - Less expensive months to marry

My FI and I are self-paying for our Center City wedding. Any brides out there notice a price savings on venues/vendors for April weddings versus May/June?

I'm not sure there would be much of a price difference for April vs. May/June, but I do know that my venue offers a winter reception package for a discount over all of their other packages.

Another way to cut some expenses is to have your wedding on an "off" day.  Ours is on a Sunday so our venue is giving us 10% off and we've also gotten a nice discount from our photographer and the DJ we're looking at will cut off 20% from the package price.

Thanks. 1/2 the guests are from New England (home for me) so a Friday wedding is out :(

October, May, and June are considered peak months. I am having my wedding on a Sunday in June. We are getting a little bit of a discount.

September is also a peak month.
What about March- you can usually get good discounts in that month as well.

It really depends on the area, but most peak wedding season now is

    April-October

Try going with November-March.... by moving our wedding from the last weekend in October to the first weekend in Novemeber we are saving a lot of $$$

Also since your family is from OOT, you could try a holiday weekend

I would try for Nov. or March, but probably Nov. since there is less of a chance for snow to ruin travel plans.  March in New England is too unpredictable.

It all depends on your venue.  I got married in Novemeber and it was the same price as it would have been in October.  If there's an outdoor space, there's more likely to be a discount in the colder months.  I got married in a hotel ballroom so it made no difference.

I am getting married in March and 1/2 my guest list is coming from New England. I found that November was not really dicounted, at least where I looked. Not only did my venue give me a great discount but so did the band. We wanted Center City and March is how we could afford it.

I was told by my reception vendor that the less expensive months are March, July and August. May, June, Sept, Oct are prime time wedding months. Also its cheaper to do a Friday or Sunday. Also consider whats included and buffet vs sit down. We looked at several places and where we chose included everything (linens, centerpieces, place cards, card box, bridal suite, etc) And we saved $1000 from going from April to July. Dont be afraid to negiotate either, we were able to get more food, and chair covers at a discounted price.

We got a 15% discount at our venue moving from June to July and then another 10% for a holiday weekend Sunday. The original per person prices were around $130-$140 and we ended up at around $90 with some upgrades too.
