Favor opinions please. Don't hold back!

We are having a difficult time deciding on our favors. Our guest count is somewhere around 60 people. We've narrowed it down to a few ideas. The first option is personal as far as our history goes and the other options are Lancaster "themed". I personally am not a fan of options 2 &3, but they are for our guests and many people do like them. What would you most like to receive as a guest?

1. CANDY APPLE. Our very first official meeting was at a carnival and our wedding is in the fall. We really like the idea of using candy apples as our favors but the drawback is that we would be making them ourselves a few days before the wedding. I'm not sure I'm up to that much work right before the big day.

2. WHOOPIE PIE. Relevant to Lancaster county. Easy to obtain. Easy presentation.

3. MINI SHOO FLY PIE. Would be the most expensive of our choices but very local and, again, relevant to Lancaster.

4. WILBUR BUDS. Another easy and local option but less exciting.

Wilbur buds might not be "exciting", but they are SOOOO good!!!  If you package them cute they will be just as exciting as anything else, but really I think any of the options except the shoo fly pie would be awesome. I would say eliminate the candy apple if its going to cause you that much work...you want the week of the wedding to be as stressfree as possible!

I like the Whoopie Pie Idea.  :)  I saw pics of another wedding in Philly...they had a bunch of Tasty Kakes and cartons of milk displayed really cute for guests as they were leaving the wedding.  We thought of doing whoopie pies...like you said, very easy to display and get.  :)

I'd say any of the ideas except shoo fly pie!  You could always do a variety of whoopie pies.  I really like the candy apple idea.  Think you could find someone who could make them for you?
I agree,... ur going to have enough to worry about... dont put just another big thing on ur to do list.   :)
    they all sound cute tho.

I agree with the other girl... if u package the wilbur buds cute, that would be nice.

they are SOOO yummy.   I always have to ship those & middlewarth chips all over the country at christmas.  LOL

Ahhh! Thank you all for your input. I've ruled out the shoo fly pie for sure. I think I'll have to sleep on this for a week or two before I can decide. I would have never guessed this would have been so difficult!!

We are getting married in October and we are doing apples for our favors.  We are doing chocolate and carmel covered apples.  The chocolate ones will have carmel accents, and the carmel ones will have chocolate accents.  We are going to do them the Sunday before the wedding and have our wedding party and family come together and make an assembly line.  They will stay for at least a week if kept in a fridge.  We are going to make it a fun event for the family.  We are having about 90 people.

Also, just a thought, if you are having children in attendance you might want to do something different for them.  We are doing popcorn balls and drizzling chocolate on them.  They are pretty cheap around that time.  For the children we are also going to do smores on a stick.  Marshmallows dipped in chocolate and then rolled in graham crackers.

Maybe you could have the whoopie pies as a snack later in the evening, or when they are leaving.  We are having little squat jugs of apple cider.

    Good luck!!!!

They are all cute...you can do a cheaper option and then donate money to a charity?

I think we are donating money to a dog rescue in honor of our dog that we adopted whom brought us together.

The apple idea is very cute because it is personal for you both, but seems to be a lot of stress and work shortly before the wedding.

    Good luck!  Congrats!

I like the candy apples especially for fall but people might appreciate the whoopie pies more, you should get mini cartons of milk, like the kind they give at school you can get it for really cheap and plenty of them, be a good way to wash them down
