XP with Invites & Paper

I posted this on I & P, but since I post more often here, I thought I would like your advice too.

As most of you know, I'm getting married in my dad's backyard. I sent my father a mock-up of the invite I was creating on which the location was stated as such:

The Bride's Father Home
123 Their Streeet Name
Their City, State

Now, my father got married about two years ago. He wants his wife's name included in the location, because obviously it is her home too. He wants it to read:

The Home of the Bride's Father and his wife, Jane
123 Their Streeet Name
Their City, State

But I feel this is a bit wordy.

What are your thoughts?

Re: XP with Invites & Paper

  • What about just putting "The Home of John and Jane Smith"? I would assume most people would know your dad's name and would know him to be your dad... and if not word of mouth would surely clear that up as you are planning.

  • I agree with Allie, would that go over alright with your dad?

  • I also like Allie's idea, that way it's not too wordy but your dad's wife is included as well.

  • Jumping on the bandwagon and agreeing with the PP's. :)

  • I also agree with PPs! I think it reads better to just say the home of John and Jane Smith.

  • That's what I was leaning toward as well, I was just afraid it would sound too formal.

    Thanks girls!
