Have anything wedding related crossed off your list? We started looking at reception venues a few weeks ago, but nothing completed yet. Hopefully we'll book our date with the church in the next few weeks.

How did you hear about The Knot? My fiance's twin got married in April, I've been an occassional lurker on the knot since they got engaged almost two years ago!

Share the story! He proposed in Venice, on a gondola...I was shocked/excited but all I could hear in the background was the gondolier talking on his cell phone! We still laugh about that night.

Have anything wedding related crossed off your list? Have my dress, and the reception venue (Cescaphe)...still looking for a place to get married in Old City (any suggestions)? Oh, and decided on a photographer and took e-pics.

Fiance was planning on proposing at our annual holiday party but that was one of the blizzards. So instead he proposed at my family's Polish Christmas Eve Dinner.

Have anything wedding related crossed off your list? I've been crossing things off my list like crazy this past week! So far I have the major things such as the ceremony and reception location, photographer, and videographer. I decided that I wanted to make my bouquet out of brooches so I've started gathering/making that. Then last week we got our engagement pictures and finally this past weekend I got my dress, veil, and started to gather things for centerpieces. Whew... that's a lot.

Where do you live? My fiance and I live in Wilmington (but the reception is in PA)

How long have you and your fiance been together? 3.5 years

Random fact about yourself: I grew up on a farm in south jersey.

How did you hear about The Knot? Friends have used the Knot previously!

December 19, 2009 during the blizzard. The story is in my bio, but basically I was at work (I work in a hospital) and wasn't sure if I was able to get home. I managed to get a train home and then my dad picked me up in his SUV and drove me home. I found flowers on my porch and thought how cute that he managed to get out in the snow to get me flowers. After opening the door, I saw candles lit and thought my house was on fire, then my FI was dressed in a shirt and tie and knelt down on one knee in the middle of my living room. The funny thing is, he doesn't have a key to my house so it scared me when I saw him in my house. There were roses on the floor and I was still dressed in my scrubs, snow pants and boots covered in snow. It was the best story!!! My dad knew he was in my house and drove off quickly because he knew what was about to happen and didn't want to spoil it.

I have two different color eyes: One is blue and one is green. I never know what to choose for eye color other than hazel. Although, my driver's license says "Dichromatic"..actually had an option for 2 colored eyes.

Many of my friends have used The Knot, but they never told me about the message boards. I love reading all the posts.

Date you got engaged? Share the story! We got engaged on March 27. We were on vacation during my spring break (i'm a teacher) in Punt Cana (It won't let me post this with the correct name!). So fun getting engaged while being in a tropical paradise!
Have anything wedding related crossed off your list? We booked our venue - The Old Mill - and I am working on a photographer now. I hope to accomplish a lot more once I am on summer break.
Where do you live? We live in Lafayette Hill
How long have you and your fiance been together? We were together almost exactly two years when we got engaged, now its been about 2 years, 3 months
Random fact about yourself: Hmmm, I'm semi-vegetarian, I don't eat any meat, only fish. Oh, I can stand on my head!

Date you got engaged? Share the story! Engaged on Feb 28, 2010. Fiance tricked me into going to the Church where my parents got married - Old St. Joseph's where I always told him I wanted to get married. I was furious he made me walk there because it was freezing cold and raining, but after showing him the inside, we went back out to the courtyard where he got down on one knee

Have anything wedding related crossed off your list? Yes, a few things: Church (Old St. Joes), venue (Racquet Club of Philadelphia - Jeffery A. Miller for catering), getting ready to book the band and photographer this week. Oh and I fell in love with a dress on Friday at POB, but will wait to purchase it until the Fall!

10/2/09 - it was an ordinary night, we enjoyed the first Friday festivities in Ardmore and had dinner at Plate in Suburban Square. He proposed by the fountain as we were walking home.

Date you got engaged? Share the story! April 10, 2010. My FI and I met on SEPTA- the regional rail that is! I actually screwed up my proposal, it was supposed to happen on a Friday night but I was tired and just wanted to veg so Sat. night my FI took me out to where we went on our first date, we went to "our spot" in the city (Commerce Square Park) and got down on one knee- the rest is history

Sorry for the late reply, our wedding photog is Philip Gabriel. A friend of mine used him for her wedding last year and we loved how her photos turned out. However, our engagment photos were done by a photographer here in California names Brook Todd. http://www.alishabrook.com/

We love him, but we are not paying to fly him to Philly for the wedding.

Date you got engaged? Share the story! He proposed on September 18, 2009. We went to my favorite restaurant right on the beach in Del Mar, CA called Jake's. He had printed a whole speech thing to put in the menu which included the proposal. Unfortunately it was restaurant week so they didn't have menus, just prix fixed dinner. Poor guy had to sit through all of dinner sooo nervous. After dinner we walked on the beach and he ended up just proposing right there by the water under the stars. It was so intimate- i was hysterical (even though i pretty much had an inkling- sshh dont tell him!)
