    What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?
Because of last month's poll, vintage hairstyles. I know for sure I want to get a birdcage veil and a fascinator (possibly with peacock feathers) but I haven't decided on how exactly I want my hair to look underneath that veil. I've been watching tutorials on YouTube and trying it in different styles as well as look up pictures online.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?
More of the beginning wedding stuff - setting the budget, looking into different venues, officially setting a date, making our preliminary guest list, etc.

Since I am still in the very early stages of planning my wedding and don't even have my dress yet, I don't have my shoes. I know for sure that I want to do sapphire blue heels, though. I'll have to figure out exactly what style once I've chosen my dress (I'm hoping to get a tea lenth dress to show off said sapphire blue heels).

My latest idea is hand-blown glass cups for my centerpieces instead of the silver julep cups I was going to go with. Last month I decided on a Battenberg lace fan and parasol for my accessories and doilies for under my centerpieces.

This month I'm going to focus on the transportation and setting dates for when we will be travelling out to California where we are having the wedding.

I don't think my shoes are very retro inspired, they are more 'wedding in August' inspired. I would like to have something cuter and more 'vintage' but my knees can't handle hardly any heel so this is what I ended up with.

  • What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?
    Nothing new lately.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?
I'm working on a couple. The wedding is 79 days away.
    • FIs suit
    • Marriage license
    • Finalize reception menu
    • Finish paperwork for DW wedding planner

The shoes I originally looked at were a little vintage inspired but the heel height was too tall for my dress. I still really like my current shoes although I don't think they look vintage.

My hair & jewelry!  I got my veil & jewelry this month, and I'm currently hooked on wearing victory rolls in my hair.  I'm hoping to wear a style incorporating victory rolls with an updo for the wedding.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?
I have my hair and makeup trial in 2 weeks.  We also need to book a place for the rehearsal dinner, and a hotel for the wedding night.  I'm hoping to start my first DIY project by the end of the month when my class is over -- purple feather fascinators for the bridesmaids.

I bought the ivory shoes below.  I think the buckle is a little vintagey.  I'm hoping that they're comfortable enough to wear (I have to experiment with insoles/heel grips/arch supports).  If not, I have the purple shoes below.  I don't know how vintage they are, but I already wore them once and was able to dance in them, too!

nothing new right now...but I am obsessed with this SMP post

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?
Invitations and programs and placecards. My fiance works at a printshop so lucky for us, his boss is a big old softy and is letting us print up everything there for free, we just have to provide the cardstock.
Wording and design of invitations and programs...then printing and mailing out the invites.
Outfits and locations for e-pics, which we plan to do in the spring when its warmer and prettier here in Ohio. Stupid snow.

Tell us about/show us your wedding day shoes.  Are they retro/vintage inspired?
I am set on peep toe slingback flats, but I cant decide on red, white or nude/beige.
I am leaning towards this, seems more versatile and I can wear it for e-pics, too.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration? My lastest inspiration is a necklace I found on Etsy, it matches my grandma's earrings I'm wearing.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?  Making button centerpieces!  I've got everything but the glass fish bowls to put them in.

Tell us about/show us your wedding day shoes.  Are they retro/vintage inspired?
I'd say they have a vintage flair to them!

  • What's you latest vintage/retro inspired inspiration/idea:
I'm sort of obsessed with the tablescapes, linens, etc at this point.

What wedding related project are you tackling this March:
The wedding is 60 days out so pretty much everything. This weekend I'm hoping to get all of the table runners made and the table numbers.

Tell us about/show us your wedding day shoes.  Are they retro/vintage inspired? they are but not intentionally. I knew I wanted them to be blue heels but I knew I wanted more of a substantial heel so that I could wear them all day. I found these and fell in love.

  • What's you latest vintage/retro inspired inspiration/idea:
We are getting married on Halloween with our 'costumes" being Bonnie and Clyde and the bridal party in a 1920's theme. I've been searching for the perfect first dance song and I keep listening to 1920's big band, vocal stuff on itunes! It's a halloween wedding with a vintage flare. :)

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?
Looking for a photographer. There are so many of them! I'm also going dress hunting again. The first time it was  a failure and it only made me feel fat. I hate dress makers and their vision of the perfect size.....

Tell us about/show us your wedding day shoes.  Are they retro/vintage inspired?
This is the main reason I responded to this thead! I found the perfect shoes!! I bought them and they are fabulous! They have feathers!! I think this gives them the perfect 1920's ish feel !

  • wow, lots of cute shoes!  This is making want to keep shoe shopping, even though I have 2 pairs I could wear.

FrostedMini -- love the feather heels!  Where did you find them?

  • What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?
My grandmother/mother is sending me old buttons from my great-great grandmother who came here from Germany.  I'm going to use them as decorative pieces for our guestbook and all the bouquets.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?
    Guestbook

Love my shoes...I think they are somewhat vintage-y?

  • Inspiration...I've recently become obsessed with birdcages...additionally silhouettes for outside of the mens and womens restrooms since they are not labeled at our venue...Also found a picture featuring a white dresser drawer with a vintage handle. It was filled with flowers but I thought it would work great to have the ceremony programs resting inside instead of a basket.

Project of the month....research....all the vendors and peeps I need to meet are back in the U.S. and I'm currently in Japan til May....

Shoes....ummmm....Frostedmini...where did you get those?!?!?!? They are amazing!

LaLaPatches...have you considered a feather bouqet??? Or a mix of feathers/fake flowers...I know etsy has some sellers if you type it in...feather bouqet :))

  • What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?

Really focusing on a memories kind of theme.  Old pictures of the grand parents, great grand parents on display.  The plan is to use old pictures of us as the table numbers ("Kevin at Beth age 1" for table number 1).  I really want to find the coolest pictures I can that mean something to our families.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March? I need to find a veil.  I really want a birdcage or something fun in my hair but my issue is that my dress has a flower on one side of it and I don't want to have a flower or something on one side of my head.  The whole symmetry thing is throwing me off.

Tell us about/show us your wedding day shoes.  Are they retro/vintage inspired?
All I want is white peep-toe flats and I have had such a hard time finding any, let alone any that are cute. I ordered these because they were all I can find!  I haven't gotten them yet.  So, we'll see!

  • What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?

I'm trying to find a beautiful black dress to double duty for engagement photos and my going away dress. I'm leaning towards the Bette D. dress from the 1943 collection at Shabby Apple. Thanks to whoever posted that link!  I also need a black dress for the rehearsal dinner. The first dress I found, a 20s flapper style, is discontinued already.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?

My MOH is designing my invites and we are working on the format but thus far they are so beautiful. I will definitely post pics when they are finalized and printed out. She and I are working on my makeup and browsing for honeymoon lingerie together tomorrow.

I found the perfect pair, Nine West Janika in Turquoise, and they literally disappeared. You cannot buy them anymore (I've tried Ebay, Amazon, etc) in a size 8. I was dead set on blue shoes but I don't like any others so I decided to settle on the same shoe in Taupe. I'm going to buy them this week because they are about to run out of this color in my size! They aren't vintage but aren't out of place either because of the embellishment. This has actually been a great decision because I decided to replace the sash on my dress with a taupe color to match the shoes and my wedding colors. For going away I'm going to find some black t-strap closed toe heels (which so far has been more difficult than I'd hoped).

  • My latest Idea is for my fiance and I to take a swing dancing class.. and for the first dance as husband and wife to do our swing dance.. something fun and different, oh and very exciting.
Im already doing the fish net veil.. i guess thats what you call it...
we are trying to keep it in the 20's 30's and 40's meets modern in some ways.
I definately want a cheesecake for the wedding cake :P
these are my shoes below, the bridesmaids will be wearing the same but black.
  • I ordered my shoes today! They only had 4 left in stock on Amazon and Zappos was already sold out. So Nine West Janika in Taupe is official! If only I could find a great pair of black t-strap heels...

  • What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?
-Display 1930's photo of my grandfather and his band during cocktail hour.
-Pending cost: Have our caricatures drawn, lined up like silhouettes, to use as wedding logo/monogram (I always picture the old stars sitting at Sardi's or the Brown Derby surrounded by caricatures). Depending on cost, I also really want to use caricatures of famous detectives as our table numbers.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this March?
As much as possible! I'm on spring break from teaching for two weeks, but when we get back I start rehearsals for the show I'm directing, so I know I won't get anything done again until June. Top of the list right now:
    -Find and order dress.
    -Book band.
    -Book photographer.
-Get friends' addresses so we can send STD's.

Tell us about/show us your wedding day shoes.  Are they retro/vintage inspired?
Still don't have the dress, but I found these in red walking through DSW and fell in love. I think the T-Strap style is vintage, plus it'll keep me from falling off of them. I don't normally wear heels, but I wore these around the house for a few hours on Monday and practiced some dance moves, and they feel fine. Now I just hope they work with the dress that I hope to find soon.

    , but in red.

Not sure they are retro/vintage but I have been in love with them from the word go.  I'm getting dyed to match my dress.
