Cheapest Place to Buy Sand

I know this sounds silly but my fiance and I have looked everywhere and we cant find cheap sand! Most places sell one pound for around $5- we're filling a shadow box with the sand so we will need at least 6 pounds! Where have you bought wedding sand? Thanks!

haha, sand. A subject I am an expert on!

Home Depot, $5 for a large bag (on Cape Cod, so LARGE)

We used sand to hold the sand dollar place cards and the venue used ordinary beach sand. (insert the one and only bridal hysteria). We found white sand at Home Depot and peace reigned again.

What color do you want? Walmart has a couple different colors for playground sand out in their garden department. It's like $6something a bag.

Ooh ironically back when I had hopes for a spring wedding I was looking at sand art as a fun way to keep the kids amused. There were two websites I found that looked great to get coloured sand from:

Have you tried a pet store for aquarium sand? It's very high quality and comes in the pound range that you're looking for. Good luck!
