Hi Knotties!

I just realized that I'm getting married a year from TODAY!
I've been lurking on the board since our engagement this summer & have been asking questions here and there, but now it seems like things are about to go a lot faster after the year mark. AHHH!

Any advice from brides that are past this mark? What things should I not wait on?  So far we've booked the venue & photographer. Can I be done now? Haha

Looking forward to chatting with you ladies more! :)

    About a year out I booked our florist and was lazily completing DIY projects.  We also started working on finding a bakery for the cake about 10-11 months out.  Book those vendors in advance so you get top choice!

    Congrats BTW!  Get ready for the year to fly by!

    I operate under the assumption that Twin Cities brides are crazy and if there is anything you really want for a vendor, book asap. And when I say crazy I mean that they book people way out, and I missed out on a vendor this way. If you aren't particular then I wouldn't worry about it.

    Happy -1!  Mine just passed, so I'm right there with you with the excitement.  I'd book your vendors pretty quickly if you know what you want.  Things book up fast around here.

    Congrats. Yes...book as many vendors as you can. Not only do they book fast...you can get locked into this years pricing if they still have it.

    Me too!! I had fallen in love with a few places in the cities and they were booked until winter 2012! Unbelievable. I guess it pays to have really long engagements sometimes - you get your top vendors!

    Congrats on 1 year! I didn't have the same problems as many of the other brides cuz I'm going to be  January bride, so I had my pick of vendors even though we didn't get engaged until 8 months out.

    However, don't be in such a rush to get your vendors that you don't do your research and figure out what you really want. I agree that once you know, you should book. But I know a girl who was engaged for nearly 2 years and booked everything right away...she ended up changing her mind about the reception venue because hidden fees kept being sprung up and she wasn't clicking very well with their coordinator. She walked away and lost her $1500 deposit. So just make double sure!
