Hotel for wedding night

I'm looking for a nice hotel in downtown Atlanta to book for my FI and I for the wedding night.  II live OOT now so I'm not too familiar anymore with what's "hot" downtown.  We're looking for a newer, comtemporary hotel somewhere in downtown Atlanta.  The cost is not really an option.  Where did you say? Any suggestions?

What part of downtown are you looking for?  Where is your reception?

I'm open to anywhere downtown.  We just want a nice, upscale hotel.  The reception will be in Jonesboro.

We stayed in the Georgian Terrace.  It was't super luxurious inside the room (as I expected), but it was still nice.  It was modern, with a nice bed and bathroom.  We didn't get a suite or anything, so that may make a difference.  If you are willing to go to Buckhead, I'd suggest the InterContinental.

The Ellis Hotel also has specials pretty often.  The rooms are nice looking, but on the small side.  It all depends on what you want to have and are willing to spend.

We are staying at the Rtiz-Carlton in Buckhead. You can never go wrong with the Ritz but the style is more classic and elegant - http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Properties/Buckhead/Default.htm

For mordern you should look into the W and InterContinental, both in Buckhead or Midtown

I would check out the Westin, the W or the Omni, all in downtown.
If you go a little further north into Midtown there is the Four Seasons or the W.

Check out The Glenn or The Ellis hotel. The Ellis is right across the street from The Ritz. They are both smaller boutique hotels with a contemporary feel to them.

The W - downtown is excellent ( my top recommendation)! Or The Regis if it is in your budget!
Mansion on Peachtree also may be an option for you.

Thank you ladies so much for your input! We're thinkg that we will book with the W hotel.

Also consider the Twelve (which is where we're staying for my 12.12.12 wedding). It's a boutique hotel. There are two properties - one at Centennial Olympic Park and one at Atlantic Station. Both are modern and contemporary, and very nice.

Otherwise, I agree with all the previous suggestions, especially the Ritz. You can't go wrong with the Ritz. W Downtown, Four Seasons are also excellent, and I would love to stay at the Regis if I could afford it.

Thanks, Chrissy!!! I'm still deciding whether to do the reception there, but we'll definitely be sleeping there that night! :-)

My family and I travel to Atlanta a lot to visit relatives and we like to try different hotels all the time. We usually book one through http://sydney.travelontheway.com/City/Atlanta.htm?label=forum because they've got some decent deals. you might want to check it out. good luck on the wedding!

Thanks for all of your input.  We booked a room at the W Downtown.  FI has always wanted to stay there, so we're looking forward to it.

Twelve at Atlantic Station is an amazing hotel.  We stayed there for my bachelorette party last month.
