Bouquet help, please!

Hi girls,
Having bouquet worries and need some input! I'm looking for something very sleek, elegant, and glamorous, and would ideally like bouquets that I could use along with my big baby's breath topiaries in the reception:

As you can see, the bride put tulips in small cube vases, which I LOVE, but as I'm getting married in November, tulips will cost about the same price as as the Jimmy Choo ballet slippers I'm coveting...
Ideas or suggestions? I had been thinking all-white ranunculus like this (and then bouquets would go in square mirror vases for the reception):

However, I've gotten mixed reactions from friends and family (someone told me it looked like a brain), so now I'm second guessing myself. To give an idea of wedding style, here' my dress:

As I'm 6'0 tall and a size 4, I don't want to look like a grasshopper carrying a puffy white basketball on a stick. Help, please!

I don't post much but I have been a florist for 9 years and only about 2 times out of the hundreds of times ordering I have seen ranunculus look like that in person. Normally it is way way smaller. Not saying it is not possible they are beautiful but never as big as a bride wants.  I hate to see people looking forward to these perfect photo shoots flowers, this is the one flower that kills me every time. I do live in Oregon so i don't know if that has something to do with what we end up with.  Might want to talk with your florist and see what they experience with ordering them.

In New England, ranunculus would be off season and pricy in November.  For a graphic quality, what about white spider mums?  Low vases of all white spider mums would have a great seasonal and graphic quality.

That is assuming you want all white flowers.   While spider mums have a great graphic quality, they do not have a lot of different colors; just white, light purple and yellow (I believe).

I love ranunculus but like the PP said it is hit or miss on the size that come in.  I used to work in a florist and sometimes we would receive large ones but that was very rare.  Did you think about doing a mix to include ranunculus?  That way it won't look like a "brain" (which I think is silly because I think the bouquet is beautiful).  You could do a nice mix or white roses, white lisianthus, white ranunculus, gardenias (only bad part about these is that they bruise easily), white hydrangea, etc.  You can then take the mix in your bouquet and use it in your low vases on your tables with each vase containing only one type of flower.

Calla lilies are very elegant and have a similar shape to tulips, though I hear they can be expensive per stem...You could ask your florist about mini calla lilies too.

    Good luck!
