My back's had enough!!

My mattress sucks. It gives no support whatsoever and I wake up with back pain on a weekly basis. FI sleeps on it and has no problem whatsoever. He was out of town this weekend to visit family, so I took my Mom to see The Expendables 2 (entertaining by the way!) and we stopped at JCPenney's. I caved and ordered a fantastic Serta mattress with a plush top for FI and plenty of support for me. I got the box spring for free, including shipping and delivery, and they'll take away my crappy mattress as well. It comes on Saturday so now I know the sore muscles and back pain will soon be gone!

Re: My back's had enough!!

  • Glad to hear you might not have back pain any more. Sleeping on an uncomfortable mattress is the pits. Just curious if you told your FI before you bought it?
  • Oh yes, I should have mentioned that. I called him just before I made the purchase. He said that he trusted me and was looking forward to trying it out on Saturday!
  • Good thing he is okay with this because DH and I would have been beyond pissed if one of us went out and bought a mattress without the other person trying it out and agreeing to it also.

  • Aahhhh...There's nothing like a good night's sleep.  I resisted for a long time too due to costs.  But I never will again!  Congrats on the new mattress. he he heLaughing

We're in the process of saving for a new bed. We've got a full, and it's older and that thing sucks. I toss and turn all flippin night long and am exhausted daily (which results in me feeling lazy).

Maybe we'll get one for Christmas :o)

    Congrats on the new bed!

Oh, for the love of God, yes, get one asap once the money is there.  I was on a crappy old full too for years and now that I'm on something better I don't know how I ever waited so long.  It's soooooo worth it.  I can't say it enough.  Good luck in making that happen.
  • Awesome.

We need a new bed soon. Ours is about 10 years old. It was a really good quality mattress at the time but it's definitely starting to sag. The thing is we will be moving in about 18 months and we will be getting a king sized bed at that time and our queen sized bed that we use now will become the guest bedroom furniture. Not sure if I can justify the cost of a new mattress when we'll be getting another one so soon afterwards.

  • New mattress was one of our best investments. We upgraded to a brand new Sterns and Foster a few months ago and it was a very worthwhile purchase. Hopefully you get a great nights sleep!

  • I am sooo jealous right now because FI and I are putting off buying a new bed until after the wedding.

  • Yeah, we've been planning on getting one so the opportunity presented itself and it was a great deal. My crappy mattress sags so badly that I have to have a thick piece of plywood to keep it more even!
