HELP!

Okay so I had no idea that this would be so hard to figure out! Well it is for me hopefully it is just a dumb questions and you guys can get me on the right track!!  I am trying to figure out the exact time of the ceremony.  I want it to be just enough light were candles actually help accent the look of the wedding.  Where there is enough sunlight at the beginning of the wedding to see clearly but yet the candles do help.  And by the time the ceremony is over the sun has made beautiful colors in the sky. (fyi my wedding shouldn't be that long) I found website that tell you when the sun is suppose to set on October 8th in Alabama.  It said 6:21, but if I am right that is when the sun it almost gone!  So what time do I have the ceremony?  I know that I may not hit the nail on the head, but I want to be close on the timing.  I really just want that elegant romantic feel.  I hope this made sense!

Re: HELP!

  • the time of the sunset is the time it turns dark.  so i think perhaps a 5PM ceremony (assuming it's 45 min or so).  that way the sun will start to set towards the end.

also, in this case you'll have beautiful light for photos immediately after.

  • Thank you, we are going to take ALL of our pictures before hand though. So we don't have to rush.

  • "Sunset" is when the sun has gone all the way over the horizon. There's still a little light in the sky at that time, but not a lot - apparently the time between sunset and full dark is called "nautical twilight". You'll start to get pretty colors in the sky even 90 minutes before sunset, and that far out the sun won't be low enough to be shining directly in anyone's eyes.
