Hey!  I think it was you that said you were going for a cake tasting at Palermo's this weekend.  If so, how did it go?  I have an appointment with them on Thursday.  I was torn between them and A Little Cake.  Decided to make the appointment with Palermo's.

Yup, that was me. It went well. She showed us the available cakes that we could get with our package (based on where you are getting married). She let us scroll through the pictures and pick out the ones we liked until we chose one. (she said if we saw one we kind of liked, they could do a ton of different colors/add flowers, etc).
Then, she brought out the flavors for tasting - a dish of vanilla cakes and dish of chocolate cakes. We were already leaning towards a chocolate cake so we tasted all of those first. We ended up picking a dark chocolate cake, with chocolate fudge filling. It was so good! We tasted a few of the vanilla cakes, but I think our minds were made up at that point. FI also liked the chocolate cake with raspberry filing, but I was worried that not enough people like raspberry. He also liked the nutty tasting one ( I thought that cake was too try). The girl said the filling was made with nutella - but I didn't think that was a good idea because people might have nut allergies, and how would they know the filling had nuts in it? (If they are allergic to chocolate, at least they can see it is chocolate).
I felt the cake we ended up picking was the most moist cake out of all of the chocolate ones. (Usually wedding cake tends to be dry and that was the one thing I was concerned about).
Then she wrote up all the details and that was it. Overall, I was pleased and I don't believe we'll have any more communication with them before the wedding so hopefully it goes smoothly.
Afterwards, we went into the bakery and bought some crumb cake, which was really really good, and cheap (only $3 for a huge box of it!). Good luck, have fun!
