Swan Lake Help!!

My fiance and I live out of town and are looking to get married on Swan Lake in an outdoor ceremony in July 2013. My future sister-in-law and I have searched endlessly and came up with very few optionsfor wedding and reception venues. I understand it is a small lake, approx 30 min SE of Flathead Lake, but it holds a very dear place in both our hearts. We would like to exchange our vows overlooking the lake, so we will need plenty of shoreline. The wedding will be approx 100 ppl, most of who will be travelling from out of state. We are also looking for a string of cabins on the lake so everyone can stay side-by-side if they choose to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Swan Lake Help!!

  • Yes, thank you all. We have thought of Big Fork, but would like cabins for immediate family and bridal parties to stay in.
We have heard of Six Mile Estate, only through a family friend who lives in the area. We are looking into this as a possibility and are aware how quickly everything books up in the area. This is why I thought I would be smart and start looking before this summer for next summer. :D
Again, thank you all for your help. I greatly appreciate it.

[QUOTE]After plenty of fruitless searching myself, a friend from the Swan Valley told me about this place—I haven't seen it, but have heard it's beautiful and right on the Lake. http://sixmileestate.com/ I called for myself looking for a date this summer and they were booked up, but had pretty much all of 2013 open. Apparently they book up quickly, so I would get on it! There are cabins at the site, which sleep up to 40. For other places to stay, there are the Swan Lake Cabins, and the Swan Trading Post is supposedly a nice spot for camping. VRBO has quite a few vacation rentals on the swan as well. Good Luck!

  • check on www.vrbo.com. There are a few properties. Although not sure if there are any that can accomadate 100. This is where I'm looking at holding my wedding in July of 14. Good luck!
