How are you picking what vendors you want to consider using? How did you know they were right for you?

I really did my homework on this -- went to venues that were recommended on TheKnot, then received THEIR lists of preferred vendors, cross-checked those on here, Weddingwire, Weddingchannel and Yelp. Then I cross-checked THOSE vendors with other vendors. As in: Hey, Officiant, what do you think of this DJ? Would you like to work with him again? Then haggled on the price 'til we got it where we wanted it. I'm VERY confident with all my vendors, especially because I've bothered them in the most Type-A way for 10 months now. I'm excited! to leave it all in their capable hands!!

I'm planning from OH and i'm just researching all the options,. Reading reviews for now, but i will be posting more questions about recommendations from real brides. It's hard!

We've been lucky and been able to pick vendors who are also friends! Our photographers - K&K Photography - happen to be long-time friends of my fiance. Our catering is coming from the restaurant at the end of our street where we hang out at least a few times a week and know the owner. One of the bartenders there is also going to bartend the wedding. In lieu of favors, we're arranging for donations to an animal rescue group we work with.

We used Rusty Pelican vendors since they knew the place the best. The only one we didn't go with was our photographer which I researched online.

My wedding planner, Julie, owner of Chic n Fabulous, recommended all of mine. I'm using Diane at Tampa Calligraphy to do our invites, place cards, programs, etc., Laurie at A Piece of Cake, Michelle Renee for hair and makeup, Mr. Paul's Tux on US19 for the boys, Grant Hemond for the DJ, and The White Closet on Memorial Highway for my dress. We're still undecided on a couple of vendors.

I started with my venue which I had researched long before I was engaged. I then used reviews on here to narrow my search down for photographers. Once I found a photographer, I used the preferred vendor list from them and my venue while still looking at TK. I started with vendors that had been recommended by multiple sources (vendor lists, Knotties, friends). After that it was based on how well we thought it fit our needs/wants.
