My parents are throwing us an engagement party in a couple of weeks and my Mom asked me yesterday about whether or not they should get anything to give to people as favors.
Her and I had looked through the Oriental Trading catalog but we haven't found anything that seems appropriate for an engagement party favor.
The guest list for the party consists of our families (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins) and also our wedding party and their significant others. The total # of people invited was around 100 and we are expecting around 75 to attend. I just think that since my parents are spending so much on feeding everyone for the party, they should not have to worry about providing a favor for our guests.
I'd be happy to buy/make something but I'm not sure if that's proper etiquette since they are throwing the party.
So I guess my questions are:
Should my parents purchase favors for the guests?
Should I offer to purchase the favors?
If you say "yes" to either question.....any thoughts or ideas on appropriate/fun/not too expensive favors??
