Have you been there?
As far as armories go, I think the Durham one is pretty. It's architecturally interesting, and is part of the Civic Center Complex. I don't think it's a typical armory.
The Durham armory hosts a LOT of events. I haven't been inside, but I know people who have been there, and they say that it is beautiful and would be fine for something like a wedding reception.

Does anyone have pictures of a wedding they've been to or had at the Durham armory? From what I've googled, I only found one wedding group. I would like to get a better feel of what it would look like decorated before I choose.

Are you military? I think the armories are old raggedy buildings and you would have to do a lot of decorations to make it look like something.
