I've always LOVED the look of a coloured crinoline and have been going back and forth with it since I got my dress. I've decided that I definitely want to do it, but now I'm stuck.
Everyone recommends RIT dye for doing it, as it tends to have the brightest and most even results. However, to do it you need to use a washing machine.
What's the problem?? I have a front-loading HE washing machine. A brand-new, $1,600, front-loading washing machine. That I'm pretty sure a certain, soon-to-be Mr. would NOT appreciate my using to dye my crinoline.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how else I could do this? Do you think a laundry mat would have a problem with it? FMIL has a front-loader too that I'm sure she doesn't want me using for dying, and my mum uses ours to do her wash. The dye doesn't stain the inside of the washer, but so many people don't trust that for some reason?
Do you think we could use the bath tub?? Which is plastic and would probably get dyed? Anyone want to dye my crinoline for me?? haha
Help!?!?
