Bridesmaid Gifts

Hey Ladies!

I was browsing the internet today looking for bridesmaid gifts and I am curious what you are giving your girls for their attendants gifts and where you got them from? I was thinking a nice piece of jewelry but I'm just curious what unique ideas you all thought of!

Re: Bridesmaid Gifts

  • Your gifts should be individualized for each BM and have nothing to do with your wedding.  For one of my BM I get her tickets to a football game, another GC to her favortie store, etc.

  • I got my bridemaids gifts for them.  Two of them I got coach clutches. I got one a coach wristlet and a pair of welly rain boots. I got one a coach makeup bag and I got my MOH a sweet camera case for her camera.

  • This isn't an original idea, but it's pretty expected here to buy their jewelry for the wedding as their gift. That's what I will do, but I am also thinking about crocheting them a shrug to go around their shoulders. I would personalize the shrug for each one.

  • Something personal the general consenus here is that you should shop like it is their birthday/christmas.

    Ex
BM1: Northface jacket, tote, sandles, giftcard to the rock and some snowbaord stuff
BM2: Art supplies, stuff for her corgi, and a jacket from escape outdoors.
MOH: Vibram five fingers, workout clothes from vs and giftcard to panera

We set our limits for the BMs at like 100-125 just b/c we had that room in the budget. Plus there are only a few of them-

Things that are intended to be used in the wedding are not gifts, they are part of their attire and should be given seperately.  You should give them a gift that is meaningful to them and that they will use for more than one day.

  • I love the Coach wristlet/handbag idea!!!  That is what I am thinking of doing for my girls, in a great color to wear and use all the time.  I also got bags the day of embroidered with initials, full of day of neccessities. I am still looking for one other item, as well as for flower girl who is my sweet niece, and parents.  Any ideas??  Thanks so much!!!
  • oh the bags are like makeup bags but larger, with the first initial embroidered on front.

I don't have a large budget for the bridesmaids (nor will they have for me - we're all getting married with 4 mos of each other).  I got them the monogrammed totes (cheesy, I know) from Knot, but I'm going to fill them with more personalized things.  I'm think a bottle of their preferred alcoholic bev, books, jewelry, etc.  I'm thinking Anthropologie might be a place I will check out - they have some many unique and affordable things (we're talking homegoods, not clothes).  That's my girls' style, though.

Edit - wow, that's a lot of bad spelling.  I think it's time to put the wine away...

  • My MOH is my sister, when we were younger we had simlar, almost matching charm necklaces that we both absolutely loved. She lost hers a few years ago and was completely devastated. I am breaking mine in half and creating two bracelets out of the necklace, one for me and one for her and adding a few special charms to hers.

One of my bridesmaids was admiring a pair of earrings but won't buy them for herself, so....

My other bridesmaid loved an photo collage thing from Pottery Barn, although it was WAYYY out of price range I found one almost identical to it.

  • I have been toying with the idea of painting/creating personalized picture frames, with a picture of me and that BM. I'm somewhat crafty and thought I could make each different. I could add fake flower petals to one, letters and beading/crystals to another... the stuff at craft stores make for endless possibilities.

I'm just wondering if that's enough. It will probably take me a while to put these together and I do have black clutches for the four of them to go with the frames (but the clutch was intended to be used on that day IF they wanted). What do you think - is that enough?
