HELP! Wedding this weekend

Ok...so I know that I made a major error by going to the beach last weekend but I was super careful and only laid out for an two hours and put SPF 30 all over my face.  Well even doing that my skin is peeling.  I didn't burn, but I guess enough of a tan will still dry out your skin.

Now, I'm stuck with a face that is peeling especially near my hair line.  What can I do in the next day and a half to get rid of the peeling?  Make-up does help in covering it, but it's still somewhat noticeable.

Any quick fixes to getting that dead layer of skin off?

Thanks!

  • Lather up with the lotion aloe.  It helps moisturize.  I would also get a moisturizing face wash and I have a clarisonic that helps pull off that dead skin :)
  • If you're not burnt I'd suggest a good exfoliant. Mary Kay makes a good micro dermabrasion 2 step system that balances your skin after exfoliating.

  • I have a chemical burn on my forehead that peels so I use vitamin e oil on it. My naturopath told me that it helps prevent scarring. But if you plan on using aloe also make sure you do them at different times. I would use the vitamin e at night it's really greasy looking. I just pop vitamin e capsules instead of buying the bottle of oil.

Thanks for the advice!  I have an exfoliant that I'm trying...fingers crossed!  My fiance did say to me..."It's not bad, plus isn't that what that cover-up stuff is for"!!  As long as he doesn't mind it, I think we're good!!

  • I would sleep with a thick layer of moisturizer or face cream on the affected area and then use an exfoliator or even a facial brush to scrub it in the morning.

  • yea ditto the exfoliator, but be very cautious about it....if you scrub too vigorously when you are badly burned it can be really painful and bad. I would just get one of the scrubs with small beads in it and lightly wash with that. ouch!! 2 hours is a long time for a really pale person like me so I would have also gotten really fried!  Sleep with layers and layers of super hydrating lotion.
  • The exfoliator worked perfectly!!  Used Clean and Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub and the peel is completely gone.  My face is one tone!!!!

Thanks for the advice, I'm ready to walk down the aisle tomorrow!
