HI everyone- I am looking for opinions on not having a show cake. I would just order 3 sheet cakes to serve. I am getting conflicting opions when I ask around my group of friends. Thanks.

    Well, do you want to show a cake or not? Everyone else's opinion is irrelevant.

    It's up to you.  If you want a tiered cake then get a tiered cake.  If you just want sheet cakes then just get sheet cakes.  You could always get just a small nicely decorated cake for you and FI to cut and then have sheet cakes to serve to your guests.  Just make sure the quality of the cakes are the same.

    I agree with PP. I have been to weddings where the couple just got a very small two tiered cake to share between themselves. They had a cannoli bar for the guests. So if you want to do sheet cake, do sheet cake. Another idea is cupcakes for guests.
