Any other physical therapy students out there?

I am half way through getting my DPT and my wedding will be a few months before I graduate. We are getting married Oct 22, 2011 and I graduate that December. The wedding will be on a weekend in between two clinicals! Any other physical therapy students out there planning a wedding during school?

Re: Any other physical therapy students out there?

  • I'm not physical therapy but Occupational therapy and Im planning my wedding for imbetween two clinicals too
  • I'm in physical therapy, working on my DPT too!  I graduate in May 2012, but we're looking at getting married after graduation.  I'm so glad to find another PT student.
  • I am a DPT student and I graduate May 6th and am getting married two weeks later on May 21, 2011. I have had friends who have planned weddings and gotten married between semesters and clinicals, so it is doable! Playing on theknot.com is much more fun than studying!
  • I'm marrying a DPT student. Luckily, he will graduate in May 2011, and we are getting married the weekend after. The sad part is that his last clinical is far away from where I live, so I won't get to see him at all for the last 10 weeks before the wedding.  We will be so ready to get married after that!
  • It's so nice to meet other physical therapists on here (occupational therapists too)!! The Knot is definitly addicting! I have to remind myself not to check the meassge boards during class or I will miss the whole lecture!!
  • I'm working on my DPT & planning a wedding.  getting married after I graduate, but doing the majority of the planning during clinicals away from my fiance.  about 10 other girls in my class got married/are getting married before we graduate, so don't worry!   good luck :)

  • I'm getting my DPT, graduating May of 2011, and married July 2011!  I did a lot of planning this summer when I had a bit of a break from school, but still have more things to get done.  Playing on here is much more fun than studying!

Have any of you who are graduating and then getting married started thinking about taking the boards?  And are you going to start your paperwork to take the boards under you maiden name and then do a name change once you've got your PT license?  I'm not quite sure how long the paperwork takes to go through to the state you choose to practice in AND how long it will take for me to change to my married name with driver's license/social security card, etc...all the things I believe you need to take the boards.  Help!
