Crazy wedding year!

One of my BMs just got engaged this weekend! I'm so happy for her - they are literally the cutest couple I know!

But assuming she gets married within the next year (which she thinks they will b/c she doesn't want a long engagement), that means I will have 7 weddings plus my own to go to in the next year. I know some of you go to weddings like every weekend, haha, but I haven't really had very many (not more than 3 in a year) up until this year. Now it's like everyone I know is getting married. I love weddings, so I'm really excited, but I'm not so excited for all the $$ this year is going to cost me.

Anyone else have a lot of weddings coming up?

    I already have three next year, another one this year a month after ours, and possibly another one two weeks after that if we're invited. That one will be a small wedding.

    We're only the second of our friends from both highschool and college to get married, so three already next year seems crazy to me! Every time I turn around now, someone's getting engaged. I'm glad we're getting married this summer and not next!

    This year we have 9 including our own.  Between now and June 2nd we have 3 weddings.  WE already have 2 save the dates for next year!  One is a destination and the other was a just a quick text from FI good friend saying we picked a date and a place!

    This year is our craziest yet but the last three years have been pretty filled.

    Not this year, but last year, yes! Just pick and choose the ones you can feasibly attend - I think people understand that you can't attend every event you want. It's exciting though!

    Yep! we have 13 in a 9 month time period (and one of those 13 is our own) :)

    I think we are skipping 2 of them. It just isn't possible to go to every single one, as bridetobe said. And one that we are skipping is one of fiance's interns he doesn't like who only invited him because she was trying to suck up to him, so it seems like a reasonable one to skip :)

    It isn't the 13 weddings that overwhelms me - its that a lot of them are close girlfriends, so there are also showers and bachelorette parties to attend. I don't think my aging body can handle many more weekends like the one I just had, even though they are always tons of fun!!

    How fun! I love weddings too and while most of FIs friends from HS and college are already married, I'm one of the first from my friends so we don't have too many to go to, only 3 this summer including ours.

    I don't think we will get to go to them all. Out of the 7, none are in the UK, and only 2 are in Europe, so the other five would mean TATL flights, which is like $1000 for each of us right there! But I love weddings and all of the ppl getting this married are close friends, so I don't know how we'll choose which ones to skip.

    Bmore, I'm sure they'll understand, for sure.

    I just sent a few invitations overseas this morning and I felt like writing on the invitations "I know you can't come, but we wish you could!" or something.

    Fiance has friends in finance who are working in Asia and also a bunch of friends in London. One of his friends may be moving to Germany in a few weeks. I really love these people, but I know it's probably impossible for them to fly in!

    I'm so happy that this year our wedding is the only one out of our friends, so it makes it a little more exciting and special. My brother's was this past march. Last year I only had 1 and the year before that 3. So far I don't have any engaged friends that would be having weddings in the next year, but I have like 5 friends that should be asked any day now I feel, so next year definitely has potential to be a busy wedding season. I'm kind of thinking their boyfirends are waiting until our wedding is over before asking. Hoping to be pregnant by next summer too.

    I don't have many friends getting married, just two and only one of those I may be invited to. But my family is getting married like crazy! I have one cousin in September and another one in October. Then the one in October, his sister is just waiting for that wedding to be over to get engaged, so that will be sometime next year. And another cousin is probably getting engaged soon. By then end of the year my sister will be the only one on my dads side not engaged or married!

    I'm so excited to go to all the weddings. Though I know I'm not going to the one in September because its in North Carolina and I both can't afford to fly down and can't take the time off work so early in the school year.

    I only have two other weddings this summer. There was going to be another but my friend and her FI have decided to just elope and have a party later when they buy a house. A couple of my friends have 9 weddings to go to this year. I can't imagine how much money it will cost them.  Going to 2 other showers, bach parties, and weddings is costing me a good chunk of money already.

    We had 5 weddings including our own... My sister's got cancelled however which was 3 weeks before mine.  so now we're at 4 and we're likely only attending our own and one in 2 weeks. :)

    Last year was pretty crazy. We had 7 in six months, and FI or I were in four of them. That was a bit nuts, especially since we were trying to plan our own. 

    This year, we have three besides ours. FI's roommates, FMIL remarriage, and a good friend of mine from school. And they all picked the same day-this coming saturday!!!! It was so sad to turn down the invites, and that FI cant be there for moms remarriage b/c he is BM in the other. She said it was okay though, and we'll spend mothers day with her. 

    I actually dont know of any weddings we'll be invited to next year yet, though a friend is planning to get married dec. 2013. And a cousin is getting married in June 2013 actually, but we arent sure how big she plans to make it.

    Honestly I AM SOOO JEALOUS!! All of FI friends and mine are not looking to marry ANYTIME SOON. I dont see a big wedding rush until 2014 and beyond!
