She is the Best Woman and there are really no rules for her.  Stage gave you a few ideas.  When I was the BW at my friend's wedding, the MOH and I wore blue dresses.

  • I've seen it once where the colors were red and yellow. The 2 BM's wore red dresses, and the one groomsmen wore a gray suit with a yellow tie, and the best woman wore a yellow dress that was the same as the bridesmaid dresses. It looked really great.
  • Her attire is up to her preferences and your FI.  But in reality, I'm sure you and FI could discuss with her together.

Just my personal opinion, but I would at least extend the invitation to include her in all of the "bridesmaid" dress shopping trips, bachelorette party, showers, hair appts ont he wedding day, etc, if you'll be doing any of those. She might decline and stick with the guys, but it's at least nice to feel included!

  • I was a friend's "best man" several years ago.  I thought it was nice that the bride included me in shopping and everything else.  I asked what her preference was as far as what she wanted me to wear.  Her maid of honor and I were in the same dress/same color and the bride had a guy standing on her side as well.  It turned out nice.
