For anyone yet to register, I came across this tonight and it sounds awesome.

It allows you to set up a registry for gift certificates to lots of Chicago restaurants and they mail them to you as your friends fulfill the amounts you asked for. FI and I have everything except fine china and have been struggling to find anything to register for. This seems like a fun idea for people who want to give something but you get a date night out of it.

I love this idea too!! A girlfriend of mine who just got married in October did the same thing!

LIB, do you know if the transactions went smoothly? We are really interested in using this as our registry but FI is a little worried about it actually works.

Hope you don't mind me replying here...we have Google alerts on "Foodie Registry" and I noticed this thread. First, thanks so much for checking out our service and for the kind words you have about the concept. We're a local Chicago couple who had the same experience as you when we were married, so you (and us!) are exactly who we built Foodie Registry for.
