Student Musicians

I've emailed the music departments at Furman, Clemson, Anderson, USC Upstate, and Wofford about available string or flute trios to play during our ceremony. Am I missing any schools?

Converse College has a large School of Music.  My God child is a violinist and on full scholarship there.  She is putting together a group for me.  I am very excited.

leisarice - you don't even know how jealous I am of you right now! This whole ceremony musician thing is a serious PIA. I'm about to say screw it and just have the DJ do it. I would pick the one date that's about impossible for student groups to work with. :-)

I wanted musicians to play as well but having the DJ do everything turned out to be easier. I hope it works out better for you!

I think we're going to have to end up with a DJ just based on timing. Our wedding's at the start of the semester, so student groups aren't put together yet, and the professional groups are stupid expensive. Call me crazy, but I'm not paying $650 for 20 minutes of music.

If you ever decide you want a vocalist, I wont be a student any more at your wedding date and my wedding fees are WAY cheaper than that :) haha

Have you tried Gigmasters.com? You might be able to find something there...
