Is anyone from LU here?

I'm going into my senior year at LU and am planning on getting married next July 2011 in the Outerbanks, NC.
Tell me about your wedding plans!

  • I am in Texas finishing up my last year of school as well.  I will be married here in my college town 9 days after I graduate next May

  • When you say LU, are you talking about the one in Lynchburg, VA?  If so, I'm a senior Special Ed major there, and FI is a senior Biblical Studies major. :) Welcome to the board!
  • Sorry, I didn't think to specify. Yes, LU in lynchburg. I'm a senior in Kinesiology and soon-to-be FI is Education- Kines major. When are you getting married?

Dang girl. I hope you have time to relax before your big day! I'm relieved I'm not getting married until July after I graduate so I can finish all the little things.
  • June 11, so about a month after graduation, but everything is in Roanoke, so I'm not long-distance planning like my roommate is right now. :)  All the details are in my planning bio.  Good luck with everything!!
  • Ok so I think I know who your fiance is. A bunch of my friends lived on his hall.. anyways, congrats on your engagement! I looked at your site and it all looks really nice. Hope you have a good year finishing the details!

He was an RA on 25-1 08-09, and 7-1 this past year.  It's so funny that it's such a big school, but then you're bound to know someone who knows someone. :)

haha yes its going to be hectic! it was the timing that just made the most sense.  I am doing it that way so my family doesn't have to buy plane tickets twice in the same year.  (my sister has a family of 6!) and both are super important to me.

Thankfully I will have my BIG test in Nov and a minor state exam in April, but no finals right before graduation.  I will acutally have a month off between my last day of class and the wedding.  We will have meetings and such but nothing too time consuming I hope!!

That's a good call in terms of flights. I didn't think about that. Sorry.. did you say what your major is? Are you going to do a lot of the work yourself? Ie invitations, STDs, decorations etc?
  • I am finishing up vet school so I am in clinics now.  I am not doing a whole lot of DIY unfortunately b/c of school and my unknown amounts of free time.  BUT my SIL is a graphic designer so she did my STDs (turned out AWESOME!) and is going to do my invites- my mom is going to address them.

I have also been engaged for over a year :) so I got a lot done over my breaks already and am pretty much down to the details.
