Magnolia Hotel Reception Reviews

I am having my wedding at the Magnolia Hotel this fall.  We loved the venue so much that I didn't even think about the food when we booked it. Now I am starting to worry that it will be awful.  Since they don't have a restaurant or anything I can't go in and taste the food before our official tasting this summer, when it will be too late to do anything about it.  Has anyone been to a wedding at the Magnolia and do you remember if the food was good or not?

    I went to a wedding there and the food was really good. I don't think you have anything to worry about!

    I just looked at the Magnolia today.  I'm going back on Saturday with the rest of the family and am hoping to have my wedding there this fall too!  I think Harry's bar has food.  It obviously wouldn't be the same food items you would choose from for the reception, but you could at least get a "feel" for the food maybe??

    Carrie1025 - thank you, that is so good to hear.  I think I just needed to freak out for a minute :)

    jhimel: I didn't think about going to Harry's Bar to try the food.  Great suggestion, I will do that this week.  Are you looking at the ballroom or the club level?

    We are looking at having our ceremony in the club and the reception in the ballroom.  What are you planning to do?  When is the wedding?

     We are having the ceremony at the Botanic Gardens and then our reception in the club.  We loved the ballroom but I thought it might be too big.  We are only expecting about 80 people.  Our wedding date is 10-09-10. 

    When I went to look at the club they were setting up for a ceremony and it looked gorgeous.  Very romantic with the fountain and everything.  I think it would be an awesome choice.

    When are you getting married?

    We are planning on getting married in November.  I have a hold on the Magnolia for November 6 until I can go this weekend with my parents.  I loved it!

    I'm a little late chiming in on this - I don't check this board very often anymore.  I had my reception at the Magnolia (Club Room).  We loved it.

    You should have the opportunity to do a tasting if you've booked your reception there.  Ask your contact.  The food was definitely good - even my "foodie" friends raved about it. 

    I'd be happy to share more info with you off-line (pictures, etc).  PM me your info if you're interested.
