Nevada vs. California, Where to marry?

We have the option of getting our marriage license in Nevada or California.  Our ceremony will technically be in California, but the office in Nevada is much more convient to get to.  We are taking out a sail boat in Nevada a few days before the ceremony.  Our officiant, maid of honor and best man will be with us, so it would be a good opportunity.  I'm just wondering if there is a legal or financial reason to get married in either state.

    Generally, states have rules about where you can use the license - I know where I live, you need to get your license in the county in which you're planning to have your ceremony.  So if you got the license in Nevada but had the ceremony in California, your license would probably be invalid.  You should probably check the law before making this decision.
